State vs AZ...

Yep, following on my phone while watching the underwhelming kitty kats. 78-75 NCSU w/4 to play.

& as soon as I say that the cats go on a 9-0 run. Still don't look great tho, & I'm not even sure they look good.

Said it before, Miller is a highly overrated basketball coach... and he's 'bout to lose this one.

I was talking about Kensucky. Watching UK while following State/AZ on my phone. But I agree with you, Sean Miller underachieves like no one else.

A big chunk of that was attributable to variance (Arizona shot 2-17 from 3), but still...big win for State.

Was not thinking that both UK & AZ were the Wildcats when I first posted.

From all I've heard Keatts is a legit hard working coach. I hope he does revitalize the currently pathetic pups. The ACC is far better when the Big Four are all good. Games against them might become interesting again.

Gotti was a terrible bench coach, but an awesome recruiter somehow!

...in a close one right now on ESPN3.
They got no answer for Ayton but tied with 6:30 to go.
Did you hear about Butter retiring? That is so sad. He was the best college basketball Passer I have ever seen. A great young man. Happy Thanksgiving Tar Heel Nation

That is such a waste, and I put that on the myopic copycat nature of the NBA. Sometimes it's a total crap-shoot as to what teams are looking for at any point in time as opposed to ability. The idea Butter couldn't thrive in the NBA is beyond silly.

It stuns me that an NBA team wouldn’t need a PG with his skill set and length. I know you knew them. It killed me to see that he retired.

Sean Miller getting outcoached against lesser talented teams is par for the course
Yeah, I'm not sure why people were mentioning him to fill Roy's shoes.

He's not bad. And he can recruit. But his reputation seemes somewhat hyped. Moreover, we'll find out how his recruiting goes now that the FBI is looking into things.

I hope Kendall heads to Europe. One of the better teams that has bigs who can run fast and catch long passes should be thrilled to have him.

I remember in KM’s freshman year when we played Texas in Chapel Hill and Butter had one of the sweetest passes that whole year and our offense was starting to flow. We never could beat Rick Barnes. We were losing to Texas again and Roy put WithDrew 2 back in the game with like 6 game minutes to go and we lost yet again. I was furious with Roy. I knew how special KM was to our team.

If Yurtseven hadn't come into the league way over-rated, people would be praising him. Last year, he looked lost and a bit timid. Played smaller than his size. Yet was smooth and showed promise. Much better this year. He should spend another year in college, but could he end up being almost as good as the idiots rated him coming out of Turkey.

I think it's interesting that Keatts has him coming off the bench - and that was true even before Abu returned. Suggests he still has a good bit to learn.

Abu, Leonard Freeman and Yurtseven should make a darn good front line once everybody is healthy and integrated into the rotation. Our guys will have their work cut out against them.

If State can avoid a letdown this afternoon against Northern Iowa, and can manage to beat Penn State next week, they should enter ACC play undefeated.

Strangely, ESPN has UNI favored by 3.5 today.

I didn't realize they were in a tournament. They'll have to play Villanova or Tennessee next. So that's one more tough game than I was counting (and tougher than the others).

Tennessee is currently beating Villanova. Villanova had an early lead but TN slowly pulled even and then ahead. Now 38-26.

I must be getting old. I no longer get pissed off when I see Rick Barnes.

At some point Zona fans willl realize Miller is all hype.

For Miller, it's more about what happens in the tournament. This is a team many expect to make the final four and possibly win it all, so if they have another early exit, then more will question Miller for sure.

Wow, so it's Villanova vs. N. Iowa in the championship game. Who predicted that one?
