Not much in the way of numbers tonight. Roy was playing mix-n-match --- no fewer than 7 different guard combos in the first half alone, and about every possible personnel permutation one could imagine --- so I paid more attention to "stuff" tonight. All that experimenting was understandable in our last non-conference game, but it also enabled UNCG to be in the game well into the second half, so there's that.
- With under 10 min to go, UNCG cut the lead to 11 and Roy brought back Berry, Paige and Jackson with Brice and 5 minutes or so later we're up 24 and the game's essentially over and it was slop time.
- (sigh) Big Joel... I love the kid but he was just a mess tonight. Couldn't catch simple passes --- blew 5 Assists. He must've bribed the stat guy since he only got charged with 1 TO. That number, BTW is incorrect.
- Speaking of which, Berry had 2 Steals, not 1, and 1 TO, not 2. He hit Big Joel in the open hand with a pass on the first series that he let fly right by him. Should have been on James.
- Brice is playing like Brice is capable of. That is a very good thing. FG%, FT%, and the best rebounding effort I've ever seen from him, BTW.
- Jackson played like Jackson --- all that's missing is the 3- ball.
- Marcus had to talk Roy into letting him play and I'm glad he did.
- We scored 45, count em, 45 pts off the Secondary Break!
- Roy used several series of 30, one of 40 and a few of the Extended 1-3-1. Me likey.
- Nate had a couple of nice defensive moments, that fortunately overshadowed several that were, um, not so nice. Also got his shot going late which is good to see.
- Still loving the way Hicks attacks everything on offense, and if Theo will just learn to pass ahead sooner in transition he will be a terror. When he takes his time and attacks with a plan he is fun to watch.
