CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Reserve linebacker Nathan Staub announced on Thursday that concussions had ended his playing career at North Carolina.
"I wanted to let you know I have medically retired from football," Staub wrote in a statement. "I have had issues with concussions in the past, and this season made it clear to my doctors that it would not be wise to continue playing. Thankfully, I feel great and have no reason to expect any long-term damage."
