Each new weekly thread will include 5 Sections: 1) A “Notes” section that might include editorials or explanations of any decisions made or unusual situations that occurred. 2) Previous Week Results, 3) Current Week Games and Cut-Off Times, 4) Selections Made Thus Far (Survivors Bracket and Losers Bracket), and 5) the Sagarin Ratings at the beginning of the current week.
1. Notes:
Editorial: Last year we had 69 contestants. We have 84 contestants this year.
A special welcome to our new contestants: Gutson, Camacot, TarHeelMark, bigbear!, pooponduke, Rmabe331, swfuller, JacobTurner/PRO, & Steat.
Congratulations to Tedensky, craig cook & pdug for having the guts to pick the Heels! I wonder how many will have the guts to select the Heels over Miami this week.
In the “Selections Made” Section below, a “(W)” behind the team signifies they won their game and an “(L)” signifies a loss. In the future, an “(NP)” will designate that ‘no pick’ was made, and we’ll use “(DUPE)” in case a duplicate selection was made.

3 contestants drop from the Survivors Bracket to the Losers Bracket.

3a. Week #2 Cut-Off Times:
For Friday’s games, selections must be made prior to 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
For Saturday’s game between Ohio and Pittsburgh, selections must be made prior to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
For all other Saturday games, selections must be made prior to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
