I think that if the NCAA allows such stuff to continue, then ACC teams need to take advantage. And that includes ACC basketball teams with practices at HS gyms with major recruits in Philly, NYC, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Chcago.

A lot of people on premium spoke out against Harbaugh and this idea, but I kinda like it. It's hard to get mad at people who understand and take full advantage of the rules as written without crossing the line. It's like the difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance: the former is illegal but the latter is just good business.

Count me in as not liking it and I'm glad Swofford is joining the SEC and speaking up. Don't want it to be cold in the spring (and fall)? Then don't coach/play in Northern states.

But the problems with this are so deep and wide that a person should not push the envelope. Nothing but pure abuse can result. So the NCAA either outlaws this or the messes we know and hate will get much worse.

Right now, I'd like to see Notre Dame camp for a few days at a high school in Cleveland, and take night trips to Ann Arbor. That is the kind of F-U that needs to be smashed in Michigan's face.

The state of Michigan is basically broke , Detroit looks like the aftermath of an apocalypse , Flint has a water crisis but the Michigan FB team can go on a spring break to FL. Talk about bad timing.

If I were a player for the Wolverines, I would love a trip to Florida during the winter, but I wouldn't want to practice football while I was there .....Harbaugh is going to push all the buttons that he's allowed to push in order to get Michigan to the top of the mountain again, and he knows that the IMG Academy has talent everywhere, so he, his staff and his players are going to try and influence as many of those kids as they can on this trip to Florida, and agree with Woadblue that this whole new concept of recruiting is going to change the mindset of Coaches throughout the country if the NCAA doesn't put a stop to it now....

Another point that was made above is probably another reason Harbaugh is heading south because what kid from Florida wants to freeze his a$$ off, and drink poisoned water....Couldn't get me to move to Meesheegan after living in the South, and I think Harbaugh knows this, and knows that some of these kids from the IMG Academy probably wouldn't even consider a trip to Meesheegan to see the school, unless he and his Coaches convince them in person to do so.....

Be interesting to see what happens after this trip by Michigan to Florida, and how many of those talented IMG kids decide to head north next year on signing-day......

So players aren't allowed to sleep on someone's couch, but they can take the football team down to Florida for practices? Gotta love the NCAA and their backwards as hell rules.
