EFLAND — Driving toward Tinnin Woods, a Habitat for Humanity neighborhood, the first encounter was with a white pick-up truck over-stacked with what looked like junk.
And just about the time you’re thinking “What is this guy doing?” you realize the driver of that truck is Larry Fedora.
On Saturday morning, that was the role for the North Carolina football coach. He helped load the truck and transport debris and materials to a designated spot a couple of blocks away.
Fedora seemed plenty busy — and business-like in his work ethic — in completing his tasks with efficiency.
Most of the hard labor was done by about 125 University of North Carolina athletes taking part in the work day for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County.
The corner of School House Road and Lucia Lane was the epicenter of this project, which spread throughout the neighborhood. The Tar Heels worked on several properties, many of the athletes moving from one location to another.
