Teams who know how to use their RB

I know we will give the ball to Elijah 25 - 30 times next game to make up for the SC game. Looking at the games this weekend, noticed some schools actually know how to use there running backs. Alabama's running back (3) RUSHING touchdowns, 147 yards on 12 touches.. I was scratching my head wondering why they didn't pass and have their running back block instead.
