Chris Stapleton is kind of a throwback so I don't dislike him. But I'm not a fan of his version. Country music isn't supposed to have vocal runs like he has put into that song.
But I love The Possum.
Do yourself a favor and check out the first two albums from The SteelDrivers, a bluegrass band fronted by Chris Stapleton before he got his start as a solo artist.
They did an album or two after he left and it ain't the same, so specifically check out the albums "SteelDrivers" and "Reckless" I referenced this in my music thread. Some gooood shit. You'd like it based on what I know of your music tastes. I'd actually be shocked if you didn't like it.
