On this senior night when you have family and friends in the Smith Center celebrating your 4 years on the hill as I fan I want to say thanks for giving this University all you have to give and for NEVER WAVERING during a difficult time at UNC as a student-athlete even with the National media and even your OWN fans more often than not slamming you and your teammates regularly. Instead of putting your head in the sand you guys from your freshman year to now your senior year have weathered many obstacles and continued to keep your heads high despite all of this other stuff going on around you. For this 63 year old man you have giving me a ton of thrills and memories that I will not ever forget. So enjoy your night and always remember the last time you ran thru the tunnel to the court to all of the noise and cheers of the also thankful crowd that you did your part and you will always be part of the CAROLINA FAMILY.

..Plus the walkons who bust their butt each day, no scholarship, almost no playing time, but are an important component of the team.

Bump. I don't know how the guys do it. I get so nervous before games.... And I'd think they have so many nerves and emotions, how do they not freeze up?

I know it's just one game but Marcus has been through so many injuries and disparagement in his time here. But think of all he has accomplished personally and for the team in some past years. Can't think of a better rep of The Program and The Family in my 30 + years of watching.

And Brice. Hard to off hand think of a guy who has improved more in the time at the Hill than Brice. Mentally, physically, skill set, game smarts, leadership, etc. the whole package.

And Joel. I'll just say I underestimated what he could give the Heels this year. Does he have unc starter or early sub skills and game? No. Not for unc. But he has come so far in not trying to do too much, not making stupid mistakes, etc. and I'll never question his heart, hustle, want to win. It's be nice if we could bottle that and feed it to some others.

I'm just ready for them to come out and be relentlessly aggressive on d and push and attack attack attack inside out on offense

Thanks seniors. Great night as a culmination of endless hours of work, blood sweat tears and joy over four years.

You have to wonder if any of them would have anticipated the roller coaster ride they were getting on when they signed up to play at UNC but they've handled it with poise, grace, great sportsmanship and class.
