Just for fun I decided to look at which players on each ACC team ticked the box in the most categories in Pomeroy's rankings.

As most here probably know, Pomeroy lists top-500 standing for each player in 18 categories.

Top 500 may sound pretty lax, but with all the players in the nation, that translates into roughly top 20%. So not that bad a measure.

Before doing this, I arbitrarily decided to make the cutoff 8 categories. So a player has to be top 500 in 8 or more categories to make this list.

26 players made the cut.

Only 2 teams had 3 players make the cut: UNC and Notre Dame.

Another 2 teams had nobody make the cut: Louisville and Miami.

Here's the list:

14 Young - Pitt - 6'9 235

12 Collins - Wake - 6'10 235
12 Blossomgame - Clemson - 6'7 220
12 Artis - Pitt - 6'7 215
12 Smith - NC State - 6'3 190

11 LeDay - Va Tech - 6'7 235

10 Colson - Notre Dame - 6'5 225
10 Bacon - FSU - 6'7 221
10 Lammers - Ga Tech - 6'10 227
10 Lydon - Syracuse - 6'9 223

9 Meeks - UNC
9 Jackson - UNC
9 Vasturia - Notre Dame
9 Henderson - NC State
9 Crawford - Wake
9 Jefferson - Duke
9 Kennard - Duke
9 Clarke - Va Tech
9 Holmes - Clemson
9 White - Syracuse

8 Berry - UNC
8 Perrantes - UVa
8 Wilkins - UVa
8 Farrell - Notre Dame
8 Bowman - BC
8 Turner - BC

Nice work.

The fact that State is in the cellar with 2 players listed speaks volumes about Gottfried. FSU is in 2nd with 1 player listed and Louisville is 4th with none. That's the difference between having a good coach and not.

I added it a couple more players that somehow didn't copy and paste the first time. Sorry about that. Notable additions are Lammers and Lydon.

If you built a team from the top 10 guys plus 3 of your choosing from the rest of the list, who would be your starting lineup?

I added in height and weight for the top 10 players.
