*We now know that either Oklahoma or Villanova will play for the national title, on the other side it will be either Virginia, Syracuse, Notre Dame or UNC. UNC has more national titles (5) than the rest of the teams left in the field combined (2).

*Villanova beating Kansas did Carolina a huge favor, obviously, but only if the Tar Heels can take care of business in their next two games. Even still, bit the Sooners and Wildcats somewhat vindicated themselves today. Both had been under appreciated but absolutely can play.

Nova's D on Kansas, especially in the interior, was impressive, and with Oklahoma, Buddy Hield is the real deal. But he has help, too. If the Heels get that far, taking out either will be a significant task.

*At least we were spared a Big 12 semifinal next week, which would have been annoying. And with Kansas out, if UVa and the Heels win Sunday they will most certainly play the second game next Saturday. If it's UNC and Syracuse, it still my be the second game because of Cuse's name recognition.

*Interestingly, in Carolina's path at some point in Roy Williams' two national titles was Villanova. First, Melvin Scott saved the day in the Sweet 16 in 2005 in a 1-point Tar Heels' win, and then in the 2009 Final Four, Carolina destroyed Jay Wright's team. If Nova wins one more game and Carolina win two more they will meet again, though this time in the national championship game.
