What I considered the key play last night. Didn't determine the outcome, didn't even determine any points, but just speaks to each team's desire to win. Happened somewhere between the 5 and 10 minute mark in the second half. Loose ball on the floor on UNC's side of the court. Allen and Pinson near it, Allen dives on the floor and Pinson stands there like Cam Newton. I hate that saying you can't coach hustle. You can and obviously K has. Just pathetic. Why do those silly little dives on the floor before game if you aren't going to during the game.

If Pinson is supposed to come off the bench for defense and energy, he failed miserably last night. Ingram literally went right at him any time he had the chance, and like the OP said, the floor dive in warm ups is nothing but a gimmick if you aren't going to do it during a game. I hope they prove us wrong, but I don't see this next stretch of games going very well with this team and coaching staff.

I was thinking the same thing, Pinson was just standing there looking at the ball. While I think he still has a lot of potential, he has looked like a lost puppy in a lot of the games.

Brice was shutting down Ingram. Why move him off of him if it successful? Johnson was not in foul trouble. Pinson is not the defender people crack him up to be. He's an athlete and people automatically assume he can play defense. That's not the case here. Roy made adjustments that helped us lose rather share a victory.

I agree with Thunder. Can't control shooting but you can control who is guarding who and Brice was most effective on Ingram.

Yup ^ the only in game adjustments Roy makes, are ones that move away from something thats been successful in the game. If it's been successful, Roy wants to see what else can be successful. If it hasn't been successful, Roy wants to keep running it until it does. Mind boggling.

Brice owned Ingram. He should have been guarding him the entire game. Sure, switch Pinson/Marcus/whoever onto Ingram for a possession or two, but once you realize that Ingram will go off on anyone other than Brice, why don't you switch Brice back onto him?!?!?!?

We are 3/4 through the year and bottom line and we say it every damn year, Roy needs to scrap his little bullshit rotation where he plays about 3-4 kids too many and trim it to about 7-8 max, with 5-6 of those kids carrying the lions share of minutes. Look at all the elite teams. They win every year with 6-7 good kids and a good rotation and the other kids play when absolutely necessary in the event of injury or foul trouble. Roy is brutal guys. To say otherwise at this point is just lying.

Yup, exactly. James and Maye are glaring holes in the lineup when they're out there, Pinson isn't much better, Britt has shown some flashes this year and has actually earned some playing time - but still, shorten the rotation! I'm sure all 4 of those guys are awesome kids, with great passion for the game, etc. But its just too big of a rotation. Even if those 4 were giving you solid contributions in their minutes, I'd still cut their minutes down. It's too hard for the starters to gain momentum, then sit, then come back in with a half-assed lineup around them, then sit, then come back in with the rest of the starters, and expect them to keep up intensity and momentum throughout all the changes.

James and Maye should only see the court if two of Brice, Kennedy, and Isaiah have 3+ fouls in the first half, or foul out in the second half. No excuse to have those two in for any other reason.
