The OSU situation just got worse

Zach Smith is probably done as far as big time football goes...whether this touches Urban or not is a pony of a different shade.

Any program will go a long way to protect a coach that they feel can deliver national championships.

That's true, but if something emerges that suggests Urban had an idea about Smith as White House exhibitionist, then Urban may well be toast.

As I was reading that, I thought it must be April Fools Day, because it sounds too ridiculous to be true. But after seeing the same report on other sites, it’s obvious this dude thought he was entitled to do whatever he wanted.
It sounds like something a $*&#%&& kid would do. And that kid would need to be disciplined when caught.

The OSU folks like winning. And Urban has brought their program back to elite status that they feel is where they should be. Unless there is some terribly damaging accusations that pop up, I would imagine that the powers that be at OSU are working 24 hrs a day to explain this away with as little blame sticking to Urban as possible. Zach Smith will be thrown under the bus, and should be. He will be ruined for life. But unless something comes out to make this a PR nightmare that the university just can't outrun, this will pass and Urban will be right back on the sidelines. Maybe suspended for PR purposes for a couple of weeks. But will be back when things really start to count.

I would be shocked if Meyer loses his job. The "investigation" will conclude either that he didn't know anything or that he did but followed all necessary procedures.

Never expected Meyer to lose his job. Without proof that Meyer actually assisted Smith in beating his wife, that was never a possibility. Meyer has returned OSU football to the elite, which is where the OSU faithful think that it always should be. And they are not giving that up easy. But the way Meyer handled his statement, and the press conference, could be damaging. He reminded me of a child who has to apologize but is offended that they have to. Wasn't a good look at all not to show the least bit of empathy to the situation that brought this controversy on.

tom herman w/smith and a high school coach at a strip club as well.

yeah, that herman...the guy entrusted with bringing texas football back.

How about the report that a staffer cleared out Meyer’s phone the day before Investigators took it??

I saw that Meyer took the time to apologize to Courtney Smith. And I'm sure hearing everyone blast him for not doing it at the press conference had nothing to do with it.

I still remember Urban Meyer doing an interview with ESPN where he claimed that the biggest moral issue in college football was players smoking weed.

There certainly weren't any moral issues going on at Florida while he was there.
