The Post Men

Many on board swear up and down that Brooks is 6'10". If Brooks is 6'10", than Manley is Manute Bol...o_O... Brooks is max 6'8".

From this picture, Huffman is bent over and Manley is standing near straight up, makes it look like Huff is taller than Manley. My point, the optic of this pix is a bit hard for me to really see the difference in height because Huff is supposed to be 6'9" and many suggest Manley is really now close to 7ft. I saw Hansbourgh listed many times at 6'9" and he was closer to 6'7" I think. I never believe the listed height or weights, lot of fudge factor in those.

Until they get to our place, right david?

My feeling is that each of these "bigs" will contribute to our future success in a big way!
Get it?

Tyler measured 6'8 3/4 at the draft combine, that's alot closer to 6'9" than 6'7".

Ok folks, it's peak offseason.

Cinder block + Mortar is 8 inches tall. He's 9 full blocks tall (6ft) plus some partial blocks on the top and bottom. I'd say the top is 40% of a block.

The bottom cinderblock is tricky, as it looks like the floor is a bit above the block. The black line is the height of the block above it (which should be a bit bigger anyways due to the angled shot). So let's estimate that the bottom block is 85% above the floor.

So he's 10.25 blocks tall with shoes on. 10.25 x 8 = 82 inches, or 6ft, 10 inches.

tl;dr We have some tall post players.

edit: Hmmm, he's also a few inches away from the wall, which makes him appear slightly bigger. Anyone know how to account for this? Either way, I think he's clearly bigger than 6'7.

Nice work, but I read that concrete blocks are actually 7 and 5/8th inches, kinda like a 2x4 isn't actually 2" by 4".

More importantly, he looks like he could walk thru that cinder block wall........

I'm 5' 7 3/4" in socks so I must really be about 6'2" in Carolina socks and shoes....
In my experience over a great many years, and as someone mentioned above, school always fudge on heights particularly, like Mugsy or Monte, or Brad D. or DT or Burleson or anyone else, but fudging is good for about an inch, otherwise one would look really silly.

Here's a pic with Walker in it.

Does Huff ever stand up straight? Practicing his defensive crouch?

Can't help but laugh reading this thread. Bottom line is we have plenty of height on our front line. We just need confirmation that they can play at this level. I'm confident that at least a couple of them will be good enough this year to put the naysayers' minds at ease.

From an earlier photo I estimated Brooks was 6'7" to 6.7.5". Isiah Hicks just recently measured 6'7.25" without shoes at the NBA combine, and Brooks did not look taller than him. I don't think Brooks is anywhere near 6'10". Does he play like it though? That matters more.

Manley 6'11"
Huff 6'10"
Miller 6'10"
Brooks 6'9"

whoa ... with the strength/ conditioning and big man development at UNC this could be one of the largest and most productive front lines in quite some time .. I bet the practices are almost NBA like with that size.
