I'm inclined to agree. Partly to make sure Armando is healthy when we need him. Partly to see how we play without him when we have time to prepare. And partly to see who gets his minutes and how they do.I'm hoping Bacot doesn't even play. He should rest and heal for the next stretch. I love the gladiator in him but I hope the coaches prevail and hold him out!
Thanks for a link that isn't behind a pay wall. Nice roundup of data.
I didn't realize how short they are. Could be a good game for Nance and Bacot to regain some confidence.
What makes you think Bacot is going to play? I realize everyone loves to believe the BS that constantly flows out of Hubert's mouth - "Armando isn't injured, he's just sore. I expect him to play against Virginia Tech." But the reality is Armando can't lift his arm without pain. Yesterday was the first day he's practiced since before the Indiana game, and he only did very limited work. I wouldn't be shocked if he sat out a ton of our December games. Thanks for a link that isn't behind a pay wall. Nice roundup of data.

But Andrew, my question on this is simply Bacot did NOT practice at all and yet was expected to play vs VT? I struggle to understand why Hubert was convinced he would play when the kid had not practiced and could not lift his arm? That would say that Hubert had not talked to Bacot at all about it, that is hard to believe don't you think? To be fair to Hubert, at the time he met with us last week, he had been told Armando likely would play. But the shoulder didn't respond to treatment as expected, which was all after Hubert met with us. So he wasn't lying or misleading when he said he expected Armando to play. That was the information at the time.
I got this clarification yesterday from a source very, very close to the situation.
TP, imagine diving in to the 10' end of a pool and your shoulder dislocate as soon as you hit the water, you can not swim out of that, had it not been for 2 buds of mine being right there and noticing something was wrong I would have drown that day, I could not help myself in any way. I have never felt a more intense pain, it is a pain that I could not wish on anyone.Never had a full dislocation, but I had partials with all of mine popping back in by themselves. I can't imagine the pain of a full dislocation dude! I was hoping Bacot did not have a dislocation because it just makes it more likely to happen again!
I don't want or need full candor from our coach. I fully believe some things need to stay in the locker room! Could be considered protecting the kid's privacy or gamesmanship, but I can see why some might put a much darker face on it.

I can see wanting VT to believe Bacot was playing so they could not go in to this game with a plan that did not include Bacot but I can not understand it AFTER the game. I find it hard to believe that a player as vital to this team as Bacot is and Hubert is not all over this situation knowing exactly what the kid's status was. This is up there with Garcia leaving the team to be with sick family members...
I do not suspect you Andrew, I suspect what you were told as not being totally candid. If there is a reason for that lack of candor OK, but I can't imagine what that reason may have been?
