ALL sorts of media crying and moaning about those poor dookies getting robbed in the Miami game. The entire ESPN front page is one slurp after another.... Hell this Dinich chick wants Miami to FORFEIT the game!!! Oh those poor poor dookies who have NEVER gotten a break from officials!!

I LOVE IT!!! The doochies are STARTING to get a LITTLE payback for thirty years worth of officiating breaks and bennies.

NOW Heels it is time to put a classic a$$ whopping on these jerks

Curious how much beyatching they (dookies) are doing for the past two and a half days to gain national attention to the very thing that they have benefited by over the years. So now the national media have it, and they run it as an "of interest" type story, nly with a twist, now the beyatching is about changing rules so that this never happens again "as has been deceed by the great evil one from his dark lair in his bad back pad over in the psych ward in Derm"....how could this travesty befall such a wonderful and storied program? A WWII Rose Bowl doesn't quite get it....

forfeit a game because of one play? how about looking at ALL the missed calls in a game before deciding whether the outcome should be reversed -- not just one play. the miami-dook game had a lot more bad calls that went in dook's favor. in fact, dook benefited from a general double standard about what is allowed and what is penalized. GO TO HE// DOOK!

CBS Evening News just mentioned this game in its opening 20 seconds as it was coming on the air. They called it, "Grand Larceny on the football field".

Seriously, does anyone believe that if roles had been reversed, that all these sycophants would be crying for dook to forfeit to UM, or for procedures to be put in place to overturn a game result wherein Miami would be GIVEN the victory over dook?

Of course not. That the media creates villains and choir boys out of certain athletic teams is a farce, and a betrayal of good, factual journalism. Dook is the media darling, and this fawning/slurpfest isn't gonna stop until they gain a payday (of which they've had about 20 in the last 3 and 1/2 years already) at a "villain's" expense.

We absolutely will HAVE to outplay them by 3 TDs to have a chance on Saturday. I hope Fed addresses this w/ the league proactively.

it's not just the media that buys into this good guys bad guys mentality -- the ncaa and acc and their hired hand game officials are caught up in it too. college football is getting very similar to professional wrestling. the fact that the media and acc are ignoring the horrible pro-dook bias in the dook-miami game except for one play shows how corrupt college football has become.

It is good to hear this. Newspapers would read "Duke pulls off miracle victory after hard fought game!" if the roles were reversed...

Miami will give,em that game (reviewed 3 times) If their willing to overturn the non-pass interference call against Ohio St. & the non-fumble against Norte Dame ....both for a National Championship game !

I disagree they will not want to be suspended liked the last crew, so I say Miami gets a bevy of fortuitous calls.

I LOL'd yesterday watching PTI talk about this game. First of all, as y'all point out above....calls change football games every damn week. So this one happened to be on the last play of the game? Okay. What about that game with Arizona State (and someone else) last season where the refs bungled the final 7 or so seconds, with the clock running, and didn't let the offensive team snap the ball and refused to put time back on the clock. Where was the outrage then?? They, and anyone else suggesting this game be reversed, is absolutely ignorant of the Pandora's box that would open. It would open up EVERY game to be subject to be reversed. A team wins a game on a last second FG......wait hang on, there was a really bad call in the second quarter, we're gonna give the game to the other team. Sheer stupidity.

The Stanford - Cal play, which many people think is the greatest play in college football history, had people's knees probably down, but no one cares about that -- they just think it's an awesome play. And OF COURSE, the national media is too lazy to actually re-watch the game and note the horrific officiating on the previous drive that even put Duke in a position to win the game.

Also, here's an idea that would've negated ALL of this...........how about Duke just make a dang tackle? There's a reason why those lateral plays never work........except against Duke I guess

I can see it now. We beat dook and they end up only 1 loss behind us in the final Coastal Division standings and all the national media will lose their effing minds because they will say the Miami game cost them the division, IGNORING the fact that we beat them and would have a tiebreaker regardless.

^^^ Or worse, we end up with the same conference record but own the head-to-head victory. We win the conference, but they "should've won."
Ugh you are right. I've changed my mind....I'm pulling for Pitt against Duke. I think Louisville will get Pitt anyway. No way do I (hypothetically) want the media to inadvertently tarnish our EARNED division title by crying about the controversial Duke loss. You know, because Duke has never ever ever ever benefited from a controversial call *not-amused side eyes emoji*

i've been a carolina fan since 1966. for nearly a half century i've watched dook use whiny self-entitlement and behind the scenes influence in the media and the ncaa to boost their basketball program, and now football. they're disgusting. they always have been.

And memo to our O-Linemen: keep your hands inside the defender's shoulders at all times! Refs will be looking to flag you any chance they can....especially on a big play.
definitely! holding happens on every play and is such a judgement call that refs will likely use it for their pro-dook double standard. another one is pass interference.

memo to dook alumni in the media and sports administration who use behind the scenes influence to help dook sports: FUKKKKKK YOU!!!!!!!!

Duke's secret plan. Thanks to favorable calls from here out dook wins the rest of their games. UNC wins coastal with only 1 loss and beats Clemson in championship game. Dook then has the Miami loss officially reversed and since Clemson lost, the dookies are rewarded by getting 4th slot in BCS playoffs. In the playoffs all penalties against either team must be approved by Cutcliffe (since he is such a gentleman and a sportsman) before they count.

I heard on the radio today "Well, Cutcliffe is just TOO nice a guy to make this a big enough deal to pressure the ACC to reverse the game."

Yeah oooookay. The same nice guy who told his defensive players to turn into head hunters for the final quarter of that ACCCG against FSU. Right.

And it just amazes me how dumb and short-sighted the people are who are paid to talk intelligently about sports.

People wanting the ACC to reverse the game result (first of all, the ACC doesn't have that power, but let's ignore that for now), do you REALLY want to open that can of worms? Are you so short-sighted that you can't see what kind of uncontrollable chaos that would create? Also, are you so ignorant that you can't remember ANY other games that have ended on the last play or in the dying seconds on controversial decisions?

This will blow over. The national media just wants to make their faux indignation heard and then that will be the end of it. Now, the ACC absolutely needs to hire better officials, but to call for this result to be reversed is absolutely dumb. Media keep saying "But you CAN reverse it because it was the last play of the game!!!" Nope, try again. First play of the game counts just as much as the last play. Sirk's un-scored TD counts just as much. Of course the media is too lazy to investigate the whole game and watch the last Duke drive. A caller tried to make this point on the radio today and the hosts blew him off (because that doesn't mesh with their "hot sports take" about Duke getting "the worst screw job in sports history.")

1...2...3, CRY! Just make a tackle Duke. It was that simple :)

As a Cane fan THANK YOU! I have wanted to vomit the last couple of days at the slob fest! Flip the teams and "The Miracle in Durham" would be celebrated! F DOOK!

dook has a lot of grads in media.
Thanks for the support. There were 2 PI calls on the last drive that were suspect. On one the reciever ran into our player. A 3rd and 10. Also, check the still photos of their last TD. They never crossed the line. We wonder why these items are never mentioned.

No mention is being made of the fact that Duke got a first down to make it 1st and goal. The clock continued to run and Duke was ridiculously disorganized. The head ref then stops the clock to MOVE THE CHAINS. BUT CHAINS AREN'T IN PLAY WHEN IT IS GOAL TO GO. And he put 8 seconds on the clock.

How many seconds were remaining when Dook scored? Anyone? Yep, that's right, 6.

Without the ref giving a complete bullshit whistle and adding time, Duke likely never even has a chance to have a TD count when their quarterback never crossed the line.

And I'm not one bit worried about the refs for this game- they will be under a microscope.

It doesn't fit "The kiss dook's azz" narrative of the media comparable to the slurping of the Hildabeast. Ugh I think I just threw up in my mouth.

Let's move forward 1 week...let's put the the teams on the field LSU and Bama...same last play happens....does anyone think Nick Saban is gonna give that game back to LSU because an official crew had a bad game or missed a call....or the Mad Hatter gonna feel sorry for Nick..and say...oh Bama deserves this game...give us the loss.....GET REAL..this game had nothing to do with either team...the officials had a horrible game...Dookies are pissed because the game didn't end on the other garbage calls they made on the touchdown (not) call...never got in ..clock would have run out..and 2 garbage P.I. calls during that drive...and an INT. miami had on one of those..POOR DOOK

Welcome to the party Canes! This media lovefest w/ Dook has gone on for 30 years in hoops, and now about 4 in football. And honestly, I think the football slurping is worse, in that it is so UNDESERVED. At least Rat truly is a Hall of Famer. Cutcliffe is a phony fraud.
