Nice work, WTH?. We learn something new every day. It's understandable why Hollywood, intentionally or not, got it wrong. Most moviegoers would not have been able to figure it out.
 
Better yet you could just build a camper trailer and tow it with almost any truck. If you blow the transmission in that van, your very expensive mobile bedroom is useless.
Towing limits freedom. With a trailer you can't be up in a tight, twisty mud-hole unsuitable for trailers one nite (like the original road up into Rocky Mtn National Park, or some of the fire-road camp-spots in pisgah), and in the "regular" parking lot at Red Rocks for a show the next.
