This Kentucky Fan Dropped A Young Girl In His Horrible Attempt At Being A Showman

I just wanted to give this mans background before anybody else makes a comment.

Through out his childhood he had seizures two to three times a day. As he got older his mood got to where his family had to actually hospitalize him at times and even into mental care. His classmates teased him with nicknames of "Fits and retard".

When he got older the doctors found a tumor on his brain. Which was cancerous. In which they believed was the reason he had seizures and mood swings.

After the removal of the tumor and treatments he has only had one seizure and that was a week after the surgery. And he has had no angry mood swings.

The surgery was a long time ago and his passion is UK basketball. He's known as the dancing guy. The first time out of the second half at every home game Rupp Arena blasts Billy Idol's Mony Mony for him to dance.

There's a video of him after the game crying and apologizing about this incident.

It was not the right decession picking the lady up and trying to walk down the steps but to be fair, in his mind he didn't think of the what ifs.

Please do not comment about this until you actually read up on this guy.

Jc is correct... There is much more to this guys story than what the casual fan knows. He's well known and appreciated at uk games.

JC, are you saying we need to "read" up on every person that does something stupid like this? Come on JC, you are better than this my friend.

It's very unfortunate that this man has the mental illness, but no one is going to spend hours looking into the background of people when articles like this are posted. If anything, you should point your anger to the writer of the article. Look at the title of the article. I really appreciate the information, but you have to put yourself in the position of people in the world who do not know the personal history of this man. From the outside, the man looks like the "normal' 1-2 fans you see at many arenas that do this type of stuff. I "NOW" know the man has a mental illness and feel sorry for the man, but that does not take away from the stupidity of the act. If that young girl would have been seriously injured, who do you think would be getting sued? Not the mental ill man, but UK. And UK is prompting this man to dance each game? If this young girl would have been seriously injured this case would have been settled out of court for millions. Secondly, if everyone in the arena knew about this guy, I questioned why someone would not have prevented him from putting the young girl on the railing, especially the people sitting right next to the railing. I know it happened very quickly and this was a very unfortunate incident, but it does not take away from the fact that it was a stupid act. I doubt that this man will be doing much dancing in the future.

I agree with all your comments except the last sentence. I think you should direct your criticism towards people that make fun of the situation "after" knowing the facts. Still love ya man!

I feel for the guy after hearing his story. Not a smart idea but I'm sure he feels terrible about it. I thought he was probably partaking of that great Bourbon you guys distill in Kentucky.

BTW, bourbon is in vogue right now. Love it!

Sorry JC, but I can't help but think had that girl been seriously hurt or worse, none of the apologies, no amount of crying, and none of his medical history would have helped her. Some one should have stopped him and it was not as if there were not folks there that witnessed this and appeared to be feeling this is not a good thing to be doing. I get he is loved by those fans at Rupp but allowing this to happen was not smart and should not have happened. Thank goodness the girl was not hurt...

It sounds like he has overcome a lot. It just isn't a good idea to pick up another person on the steps of a basketball arena (steps too narrow and steep). I have seen too many people fall with nothing in their hands. I assume neither he or the girl were hurt based on the reactions of the people around them.

The dude was trying to slide down the handrail. He really was taking his showmanship to another level. That website chronicling what happened is kind of funny. The girl looks scared out her mind in that one picture. I'm glad she wasn't hurt because then I'd feel bad for laughing.

I wasn't making excuses for a bad decision. I said it was.

I was just saying, watch what you say, because this is not a normal circumstance.

I gave his background to try and let y'all understand it's not you or I that decided to do this.

Sorry I even tried.

I thought the dancing guy was funny for awhile but as it went on he got worse and worse. grinding down the rail like he was a Chippendale. To start with if I had a daughter she wouldn`t have been up there with him to start with. And for him to swoop her up was wrong also. I`m glad no one was hurt but it`s past time for dancing man to take a bow. I appreciate his loyalty to our team but maybe this was a sign that the show should come to an end.

JC, wouldn't you agree that there is a very slim chance that someone outside Kentucky fans would have known this man's medical condition? Let me tell you what probably has happened already. The insurance company that writes the commercial liability policy for Rupp arena had a pow wow with high ranking Kentucky U and Rupp arena executives and said something like " We are going to cancel your liability policy if you don't stop this man from dancing"

Bottomline, I doubt you will see his man dancing in the future. There is only one person that is sadder than the man. That's the first lawyer on the scene that thought he had a multi-million dollar case. Still might see a lawsuit for allowing a man in his mental state to roam around in the arena.
