Looking for a new target at defensive end to follow closely? Here's Nolan DeFranco, a 6-foot-6, 221-pound unique player from Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange.
DeFranco told me just recently that this summer he will zip up the east coast making stops at UNC, Virginia and Wake Forest since all have offered. Based on his tone -- and I have to note that I was just reading his tone and I'm not hinting at inside scoop here -- he sounded very excited about UNC and UVA. Academics will be big for him. He really likes the fact that UNC's coaches believe he could play either the strong or weak defensive end positions, so to speak, and they believe they'd have a lot of flexibility in developing his body into more that of a speed guy or a power rusher.
The Heels, Cavs and Deacs will just get visits. Vandy is the only camp at the moment.
