What a tremendous job that Roy and his staff have done over the last 6-12 months!!!!!! Just LOOK at what obstacles they faced and overcame...... the massive .and make NO mistake it was a MASSIVE obstacle called the NCAA. The scandal that is the greatest shame of this University's ACADEMIC reputation in its history. The incredible negative recruiting that was and STILL is being used by every opponent, especially the dookies, the mooers and the kitty cats.

The relentless media "NARRATIVE" mostly devoid of actual facts and context. We all know what that was and is from the likes of Kone, the N and O ,espn.... all of these lazy, no good hacks that simply have spun and respun the same olds tired and FALSE narrative for years now.

What did Roy and his staff do?? Did they cower and waive a white flag?? HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!

They went out there day after day after day and just worked and told the truth, told recruits the truth, and battled the lies and the crap they had to deal with every day

The result??? A TOP 5 recruiting class that isn't done yet!! Man oh man to get this kind of group of players under these conditions is amazing and a tribute to ROY and his entire staff.

You are correct OP but Roy and the staff aren't finished. Need to seal a commit from one more legit big man recruit in 2016. Was hoping that was Markannen but didn't manifest. Let's see what else they have up their sleeve.

Edit: Envision a scenario 3-4 years down the road and if these guys in the 2016 class become the foundation for a 3-4 year run with a couple FF's and a natty. Imagine how much sweeter it will be that those recruits took a chance despite the negative recruiting and headlines for the last 4 years and changed the negative tide. It's a lot easier to be a big time recruit and jump on board when things are peachy. But to jump on board and make a difference when things aren't perfect shows you character.

"experts" say that FSU and Kansas are still the favorites but we've made up a ton of ground in the past month or two. The fact that he booked a visit to LNWR after the FSU and KU visits speaks volumes to me.

I have been telling the "Roy ain't gettin' it done" folks over these last 2-3 years that we are AMAZINGLY Lucky to have Roy Williams at the Helm. No other HC could have done 1/2 so well given the multiple adversities he and UNC have faced over these last 5 years or so. Not one. Not even close.

K-Rat woulda run cryin' with a backache and hid under some poor slob assistant coach's skirt tails.

He fought tooth and nail for Smith, Giles, Tatum, Ingram, Zimmerman, etc, etc but they chose somewhere else.

Fair enough. I was just curious about the source and that's been answered. I was also considering which recruits our schools have really gone head to head over in the last few years. Other than Barnes, and Giles (for a while), I can't think of a recruit that narrowed it down to really just us. Maybe MacDonald.

Given that lack of direct competition, I didn't know how much negative recruiting we would have to do.

Covered up? Wow, you missed something along the way and in a big way...rephrase it to say UNC presented everything on a silver platter and cooperated at every chance on UNC's part withe NCAA.
As to your "school" and it's part, do they still call it Brown's Chapel, are y'all still looking for that hand out of $$$ but couldn't find it in Randolph County....obfuscate, obstruct, misdirect or plain 'ol no cooperating...hmm... yep that's the methodist way over to Derm...
