I’ve heard rumors about this story for years. Now John Wall addresses it. I can’t even remember if Roy offered him? I know Wall had character issues. John Wall was mentored by Brian Clifton. Clifton disliked Roy bc Roy pulled the scholarship offer Matt Doherty extended to Clifton's first prodify Eric Wallace. Brian Clifton swore he'd never let a kid play for Roy.

Also, the weekend of the 2009 Final Four, Roy was supposed to have a call or something with Wall. Larry Drew's mom found out and flipped shit on Roy.

Psycho T really got roasted in the replies to his Tweet. This and $1 will buy you a cup of coffee. I’m guessing Roy had certain players he wanted talking to recruits. I mean a guy like Theo Pinson is somebody I’d want because he has such an infectious personality. Maybe the whole thing got taken out of context and Wall took it wrong. Who knows?

nah pretty sure it was well known that Roy pulled the plug after the breaking and entering charge, along with nc state. it’s also well known that Roy wouldn’t go through Brian Clifton to get to Wall. He wanted to speak directly to Wall and mother.

Spot on! Just as he did with JamesOn Curry, Roy said thanks but no thanks, prefer not to bring kids that already have off the court issues to UNC.

Guys...you can't make an offer to a recruit who would never pass admissions, plain & simple. Some other things transpired as mentioned in other posts, he was never offered a scholarship. I don't know how UK admitted him, as his HS (WOG) was not an accredited educational institution. Also, knowing TH, it doesn't pass muster either in regard to what Wall said about him.
