Thanks guys. I didnt put this up to receive accolades .. just wanted you to know that I gave this a lot of thought and why I decided to pull the plug.
To answer your question about what I'm doing down there, our organization
http://www.internationalmissionfoundation.org/ partners with several in-country orgs and ministries in efforts to alleviate poverty, provide jobs, strengthen families ... the end goal being to shut down orphanages (and yes, this coming from a guy who has an adopted Haitian daughter).
I take teams down each month from all over North America to do construction projects, medical projects, soccer camps, food/water distribution, educator training, and sometimes just basic see and learn trips. It's fun, challenging work and I'm blessed to be at a stage in my life where I can travel and do it. If you or anyone you know are ever interested in making a life-changing trip to Haiti, just shoot me a note. Trips are $1700 all inclusive ... we stay in a very comfortable hotel in Port au Prince and have a lot of fun while making a huge difference in the lives of others.
