With all due respect to Sanford and Son that is a unbelievable stat and a even GREATER STAT is ZERO ft attempts in the second half. Yes I would like to say that attempting 27 three point shots has a lot to do with the lack of getting to the line but how can one player have 10 blocks and 14 rebounds without also being called at least once or twice for a foul with the body.

I will give credit to Dereck Lively who only had 4 points but was the difference in the game defensively blocking all kinds of Carolina shots in close and getting a tons of offensive rebounds in the second half which gave Duke so many second chance opportunities but again how can one player have 10 blocks and 14 rebounds without fouling out.

Great night for him but I agree, a lot of body and bad position on a few of them. No fts in a half is a joke for sure.

i saw a stat- 70 fga 3fta
but it wasn’t refs fault, this was a mediocre Duke team that UNC gifted another win to. pathetic

I put up a thread asking if this has happened before and what are the statistical chances of it happening, especially to a team that leads the conference in getting to the line. (eliminate slowdown games from long ago). And you are correct. No way someone blocks that many shots without committing fouls. No way. My guess is a lot of tape will go to the commissioner's office Monday . . .

Yeah, so I just got off the phone with my dukie buddy, had to let him get his shots in on me, trust me I took my shots last season! LOL But I asked him 1 question, that I knew the answer to and knew he did as well. My question was, "what do you do against a 220lbs 7ft serious shot blocker"? What you don't do is continue to try to shoot over him, at some point BEFORE he gets 8 blocks on ya? If you know anything about the game you know that you take it right in to that shot blocker's chest, you finish thru him with strength, once he gets feet inside the block charge circle to attack his body, then he don't jump, then you go to the line at times for an and1.

Lively owned the lane on the defensive end, that is why we didn't get to the line. Did he foul some where it was not called, yeah but you have to adjust to the whistles, I will not blame the refs for our loss, I blame it on the insanity of yet again trying to finish over Lively and hoping this time it will not end up blocked again, you attack his body and finish thru him, you play him extra physical and we didn't do that.
