Roy was already making moves after the championship. He's been everywhere watching various prospects for 2017 and 2018.

Well it appears that we've dodged a major bullet. We're seeing light at the end of the tunnel. K and Cal might still try and use the fact that the investigation is ongoing against us but it'll have less impact now.

Point is, I'm tired of losing out on the top recruits to Duke and Kentucky. Any chance we get a boost in recruiting? We're going to need some bigs after next year.

Our competitors in the recruiting world have a whole lot less to work with starting yesterday.
If you are a big, come on down to the Hill, Mr. Tilmon and Mr. Bamba...we have the guards to get you the ball.

We didn't dodge a major bullet...more like a pellet gun. After the Penn State debacle, the NCAA didn't want to get embarrassed again. Perception of what happened is not going to work going forward in these investigations. Many have complained on why it took so long. When you consider the results I think many will say it was worth the wait. The Heels made it all the way to the NCAA title game and will be in the running for a national title next year. The Heels will get some OAD types in the future. The difference will be 1-2 OAD's scattered in with a nucleus of 2-4 year players. I'll take that...

Throughout the whole stinkin mess Roy NEVER stopped giving it all he had to bring in top talent.

Yup. This is the point. Roy, in the cloud of this mess, brought in a top 10 recruiting class this season. Now, with coaches unable to negatively recruit against us in 2017/18 classes, WATCH OUT.

Love our staff so much.

I hope you're right. There is still the problem of deflecting the fact that UNC does not showcase freshmen and put them in the NBA after one year.

FALSE

IF they are deserving of a starting spot they get it. Roy does NOT do "handlers" and guarantee starting spots. And this old Tar Heel loves it that way.

Roy doesn't go after oad's..false!!..name one oad that Roy didn't offer that didn't have a handler?..I'm waiting!!

Showcase freshmen? I don't see the skill sets of James Worthy or Phil Ford coming on campus so back the freshman bus outta here, Barnes, Davis, Williams...they were pretty strong but still, if it isn't Moses Malone then why bother. Many of these reported "OAD's" are labled, by handlers/AAU coaches et al, not that they aren't good but the other side of this issue is how many of those OAD kids go to the NBA and start. Get back to me when you find a OAD that starts for his NBA team day 1.

Err, Kyrie Irving, Karl Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins?

Each player that you named was the consensus top player in his respective class. In fact, im pretty sure they are even all #1 Draft picks at that, minus Parker, who could still he included seeing that Andrew Wiggins reclassified from 2014, anyway.

And like Bur-Heel said, they also got drafted to (at the time) mediocre teams. So obviously they would start.

A list of OADs who got drafted outside of the top 5 that managed to start would be more inpressive.

So there are only so many teams (28) out there for kids to matriculate to following their illustrious college careers. 360 D1 schools with 15 players each. Or about 5400 people out of which fewer than 15 kids get to remarkable positions come draft day. Of those 15 a small handful, call it 5 kids, go to awful NBA teams...and of those 5 how many start? Again, a smaller handful, say perhaps 1 or even 2....

just an opinion.

and yes, I acknowledge some lower draft choices do break through, once in a blue moon.

All of these guys were drafted by terrible teams..hell,who else were they going to start!!

So? They're still NBA teams, just teams in need of an impact player right away. I understand that building a college program is much different than the NBA, but you can't underestimate the boost these OAD types give someone at the college level.

Roy showcases freshmen who are good enough to start! Roy recruits OAD types of good character without handlers. Roy plays a super fast tempo that is appealing. Roy will showcase any person that proves he can carry the team. Roy encourages any player that will go high in the draft to leave and mentors ALL his players for life. These are called FACTS!

Those other things peeps say about him are called LIES!

Go Tar Heels!

He may have been interested in them, but when the handlers started showing their faces he backed off.

Name me one handler Roy has dealt with. ................ I'm waiting!!
You guys misunderstood me..and going back and reading my post..i can see why..I'm with you guys about the handlers..my point was Roy is not going to recruit a kid if he has a handler..sorry for the wording!!
