4-4 in February, 2-6 in games decided by 6 or less (and the only wins were vs. VT and BC), sporadic perimeter shooting, getting killed on the defensive board, often suspect on ball defense and no one is stepping up to take over late in the close ones. Let's face it, this is not a team you would drop a wad on to win it all.
Depending on what happens the next two weeks this edition of UNC basketball could go into the tournament with anywhere from a 1-4 seed. Little late for the "light to come on" but we can only hope it does.
Shorten the rotation, try to stay out of foul trouble, let Marcus have the ball in his hands as the point guard, hope he finds what he used to have, get JB more open looks, hope Coach Roy pushes the right buttons and play with as much passion and intensity as each foe does every time they take the floor against us.
This team is better than we have had the last couple of seasons but at this point you definitely need to use a pencil to get UNC to the FF in your bracket sheet.
Bottom line, and this is what is great about the NCAA basketball tournament, pre-season hype and prognostication means nothing. You get in the tournament and, if you don't make it to the promised land you need only look in the mirror for your answer.
Go Heels!
