1. ACC had a helluva tourney - start to finish. Obviously, I'd have much preferred the ACC team in the Carolina Blue cutting down the nets - but I'm on for next year! The 'Heels had a pretty strong finish after a so-so season, and were it not for a couple of untimely 1 to 2 minute mental lapses, could have won the ACC AND potentially have had their third shot at the Dookies last night! (Yeah - I know we didn't - but we showed we can play with anyone, and gaining that last couple of % effort and concentration, should bode well for next year!)
2. Thanks to da dookies' miracle finish (aided to no small extent by the officials' tendency to allow them much more contact in "defending" the Badgers than was true in the 1st half - a distinction clearly NOT lost on Bo Rein), Tyus Jones, Justice Winslow and Jahlil Okafor can go on and sign up for the NBA draft with the knowledge that they have nothing left to accomplish in doorham. I wish them the same stellar NBA careers that many of their dookie predecessors have enjoyed.
3. And last (but certainly not least),thanks to the tournament being on CBS vs ESPN, I did not once have to listen to Dick Vitale's endless phony supercharged drivel about dook (and UK's) super "Diaper Dandy PTP'ers" and endless suck-up accolades for the "Great" Krzyzewski(sp?). And we even had a Tar Heel analyst, in lieu of ESPN's cadre of dookies that were present for the ACC Tourney coverage - very refreshing!
