UNC RELEASE:
LOS ANGELES - University of North Carolina sophomore forward Kennedy Meeks participated in the non-contact portion of the Tar Heels' 90-minute practice today at USC's practice facility. Head coach Roy Williams, who is taking his team to the Sweet 16 for the 16th time, says whether or not Meeks is available for tomorrow's practice will depend on how much swelling there is and how much discomfort Meeks has following today's workout.
Meeks suffered a sprained left knee in the final minutes of UNC's win over Arkansas on March 21st. The Charlotte native is the Tar Heels' second-leading rebounder and third-leading scorer.
Carolina, the #4 seed in the West Region, plays #1 seed Wisconsin at the STAPLES Center on Thursday afternoon. Williams says it is still too soon to know whether Meeks will be available to play against the Badgers.
