I noticed Tyler Powell has played DE most of this yr. He's been banged up lots of game last yr and a few earlier, but he's getting plenty of PT along with Rogers and Bart. Think he'll play more DT next yr or drop some weight and play DE full-time next yr?

I think he will move around on the DLine...We have a couple of guys that do that and I like it...

I'd like to see him drop from 290 down to 270 or 275 to be a faster DE. Powell looked really fast in highschool when he camped here. Bart is tough, but not all-acc, and a lighter-weight Powell might be really good.

Check him here, in the middle of the clip versus Bentley Spain, not sure who the other opponent is - might be dinkins. no pads, but looks quick.

We need more speed, even on that "strong-side" edge.

But with Thomason graduating, Powell and/or Dalton and/or Dinkins will all be in the two-deep and they are all tweeners at this point. They either need to be a tad bigger for DT or need to trade some weight for quickness so they can be effective at DE.

I think Powell wrestled in HS at 240. We bulked him up to play DT. Maybe he should drop to 275 and play DE full time. After all, next year, Crawford joins the DT corps, and he should be at least as good as Jones and Clarke.

Robert Dinkins has been a nice surprise for me...Not the biggest kid we have but he plays tough...

Also don't forgot we got Jason Strowbridge.... He will be a redshirt freshman....

I guess my ultimate vote would be based on whether or not he'd be better than Bart. The two-deep on the SSDE side will be just Bart and Strowbridge. If he isn't any better than either of them, then we might has well keep him at DT so that at least DT can have a deep rotation of Nazir/Clarke, Crawford/Powell, Dinkins/Dalton while redshirting the two frosh who are both supposedly raw.
