A record-breaking season is always an accomplishment. When you break the mark for runs batted in for a single season with six games to go, that’s something special. UNC baseball commitment Brooks Brannon ended Wednesday night's NCHSAA 2A state semifinal opener with a home run to left field that gave Randleman its fifth straight playoff game win with a run-rule shutout, 12-0 over Community School of Davidson. It also gave him a share of the North Carolina high school baseball record for home runs in a season. (Asheboro Courier-Tribune)

Brooks Brannon is signed to play baseball at North Carolina next season. He would join an elite program that is hosting a super regional and has a long history of launching successful professional careers. Brannon will have the opportunity to decide between signing with whichever MLB team drafts him in July and going to Chapel Hill for multiple years. (High School OT)
