Carolina Notes

• Tar Heels are 3-0 under first-year head coach Hubert Davis

• Carolina won on the road for the first time this season

• Armando Bacot scored a career-high 24 points, tied his career-high with six blocks and posted his second straight double-double with 12 rebounds. It was his 20th career double-double.

• Bacot’s previous career highs were 23 points and six blocks vs. Oregon as a freshman.

• Carolina trailed by as many as 11 in the first half and by six at the half. UNC took its first lead at 48-46 on a Brady Manek three with 16:53 to play.

• Bacot scored with 15:52 to play for a 50-49 lead, a lead UNC would not relinquish the rest of the game.

• Bacot has scored 46 points and has 22 rebounds and eight blocks in the last two games.

• Bacot is 20 for 23 from the floor in the last two games.

• It was the second straight game he made a career-high 10 field goals.

• This was Bacot’s sixth career 20-point game.

• Bacot is one of four Tar Heels with at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. Rasheed Wallace did it three times, Mitch Kupchak and John Henson one apiece and this is the second time for Bacot (Oregon).

• It’s the first time in Carolina history a Tar Heel had consecutive games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds and shot 80 percent from the floor in both games.

• Bacot is shooting 82.1 percent from the floor in the first three games (23 for 28). That’s the highest three-game percentage by a Tar Heel since Scott Williams in 1990.

• Caleb Love had 22 points and a game-high six assists. It was his fourth career 20-point game (second of the season).

• Kerwin Walton made four three-pointers and finished with 14 points. It was the sixth time in his career he made at least four three-pointers.

• Carolina shot 64.3 percent from the floor in the second half (18 of 28 field goals). It was the highest UNC has shot in a half this season.

• Carolina has shot better than 50 percent in four of six halves this season.

• Carolina has scored more than 90 points in two of the first three games. Last season UNC scored 90 points for the first two times in February against Duke and Louisville.

• The Tar Heels are 6-3 vs. the Cougars, including 1-1 in Charleston.
