CAROLINA NOTES
• The Tar Heels win the ACC regular season outright with a 76-72 win at Duke.
• Carolina is now 25-6 overall, 14-4 in the ACC and 6-5 on the road (6-3 in ACC road games).
• UNC is the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament and plays Thursday, March 10th at Noon.
• This will be the 25th time Carolina is the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament.
• This is the seventh time in 13 years that Carolina has won the ACC regular-season title under Roy Williams. It is the sixth time that Williams has led UNC to the regular-season ACC title outright (2005, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2016). UNC also shared the title in 2007.
• Carolina has won the ACC regular-season title 30 times. Duke is second with 19.
• This is the fourth time in the last 11 years Duke won the first game in Chapel Hill and Carolina won the return game in Durham (2006, 2008, 2012 and 2016). Prior to 2006, that had only happened one time since the beginning of ACC play– in 1985.
• Carolina beat a ranked team on the road for the first time since beating top-ranked Michigan State on 12/1/13. UNC had lost its previous seven road games against ranked teams.
• Carolina has tied its school record for regular-season ACC wins with 14. This is the ninth time UNC has won 14 games (1957, 1984, 1987, 1993, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2016).
• Carolina has won 25 games 36 times, including nine of the last 12 seasons under Roy Williams.
• Roy Williams has now won 25 games 21 times in 28 seasons as a head coach.
• Williams is now 775-208 as a head coach, 357-107 at Carolina, 155-61 in ACC play and 70-38 in ACC road games. Williams has the third-best ACC winning percentage and second-best ACC road percentage in history.
• Carolina finishes the regular season 6-3 in ACC road games. That is its 39th winning road record in 63 ACC seasons (10th in 13 years under Roy Williams).
• Carolina had a season-high 64 rebounds (previous high was 52 against Davidson). It is the most rebounds since it had 64 against Elon on 12/29/11.
• Carolina had 27 offensive rebounds, a season high (previous 21 vs. Appalachian State and N.C. State) and its most since grabbing 31 against Nicholls on 12/19/11.
• Carolina had 37 defensive rebounds, most since grabbing 41 vs. Ohio on March 23, 2012.
• Carolina had a rebound margin of plus-35, its largest since it out-rebounded Nicholls by 37 on 12/19/11.
• Carolina had 20 second-chance points (to Duke’s eight). The Tar Heels are now 20-1 this year when they have more second-chance points.
• The Tar Heels scored 42 points in the paint. UNC is now 18-1 this year when it has 40 or more paint points.
• Carolina is now 10-0 this year when attempting 20 or more three-pointers.
• Carolina shot 28.2 percent in the second half. This is the first time UNC has shot under 30 percent in a half and won since beating Holy Cross on 11/15/13 (UNC shot 27.3 in the first half).
• Carolina made 20 of 23 free throws, a percentage of .870. It is the 12th time in 31 games the Tar Heels have shot 80 percent or better from the free throw line. It is UNC’s second-best percentage from the line this year. The Tar Heels made their last 10 from the stripe and were 12 for 14 in the second half (last 10 made by Jackson (2), Pinson (2), Berry (2) and Paige (4).

• Brice Johnson had 18 points and 21 rebounds. In two games vs. Duke this season, Johnson had 47 points and 40 rebounds.
