Hopefully our non conference marquee matchups go much better then the past couple of years. Get 'em !!!!!!
I wouldn’t bank on that yet. They may be pretty dang good considering the talent on their roster this year and who knows what we will look like. At this time last year, we were all talking about another run to the final four.
Atlanta is basically a home game for them. They’ll have 60-70% of the crowd.
Their top 2 big men are currently injured. Their status will play a big role in that game. They picked up a 7'2" foreign kid but he's purely a perimeter player. He played in the same FIBA tourney that Okonkwo did, but he got dominated by a couple different midmajor backup players so it's clear he's not up to being UK's starting center.
UNC definitely has the age/experience advantage.

Unc is one mile closer. Both travel basically one road interstate to Atlanta. What am I missing?
They travel much better than Carolina plain and simple. No team in college basketball has a fan base that travels like they do.

Unc has a better roster Kensucky depending on overhyped freshman again and they have what 1 tournament win in the last 4 years and haven't been to a final four in 8 years and 1 national championship in 25 years. Unc continues owning these hasbeens.
Those people are all over Atlanta. I see them everywhere throughout the year with UK stuff on.
Hell, I've been given tix to the SEC tourney a few times when it's been in ATL, and it's unreal --- almost looks like a uk home game.
2 outside of the ACC programs I have zero use for are Ky and South Carolina #hate them !
But I do admire the Ky fans passion for their basketball program and the gamecocks passion for their football program (and baseball). They don't just love their programs but they are not at all shy about expressing it, there is no line they will not cross.

Unfortunately that isn’t true simply talking about the head to head battles. Cal has a strong record against UNC (7-4 and 3-1 in the classic) since being at UK. And their roster is legit this year with multiple NBA lottery picks. My main concern will be our guards vs theirs and who wins that battle.
I guess I didn’t know all the down low because I try to stay away from Atlanta. Try to go through the mountains to visit family in western Nc
I certainly wouldn't get caught up in Atlanta traffic unless I had no other choice.
