CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Coming off a doubleheader sweep of Virginia Tech on Saturday, UNC continues its challenging final stretch of the season this week as it faces No. 13 Campbell and No. 14 East Carolina in its last games before exams.

The Tar Heels will welcome the Camels to Boshamer Stadium on Tuesday, May 2, at 6 p.m., and then travel to Greenville, N.C., to take on the Pirates Wednesday, May 3, at 5 p.m.

North Carolina has won seven in a row over Campbell, including a 7-4 victory at Boshamer Stadium last season, and leads the all-time series 39-9. Alberto Osuna and Hunter Stokely each had a pair of hits in the victory a year ago, with Stokely driving in a couple of runs.

Stokely enters Tuesday's game riding a career-best eight-game hitting streak.

The Camels haven't played since dropping back-to-back games to Duke and Elon a week ago. They lead the nation as a team with a .448 on-base percentage and rank second in runs per game with 10.2.

SERIES AGAINST ECU
The Diamond Heels will look to avenge a pair of losses to East Carolina during the season's second weekend, each by the final score of 6-5. North Carolina leads the all-time series 56-34 but trails only 14-20 in Greenville.

HORVATH RACKS UP WEEKLY HONORS
Junior Mac Horvath was named the Perfect Game/Rawlings College Baseball Player of the Week after hitting five home runs and registering 19 RBIs in four games last week. He was also tabbed the D1 Baseball Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week. Horvath hit two home runs and drove in eight against UNCW to start the week, then hit two more homers and drove home seven runs in game one of a doubleheader Saturday against Virginia Tech.

20-20 CLUB
Horvath is looking to become the second player in school history with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a season. He currently has 19 in each category through 44 games. His 19 blasts this season are a career-best, while his 19 swipes tied his career-high from a year ago. The only other player to record a 20-20 season at UNC was Vance Honeycutt as a freshman in 2022 (25 home runs, 29 stolen bases).

WALKS UP, STRIKEOUTS DOWN
Honeycutt leads the ACC in base on balls this season with 48 walks through 44 games, seven more than he had in 64 games as a freshman. His on-base percentage is also up 25 points this year (.434) compared to a year ago (.409). He's also struck out at a much lower rate this season, averaging less than a strikeout per game (0.977) compared to 1.4 per game during his rookie season.

OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
UNC scored a combined 25 runs in its doubleheader sweep of Virginia Tech on Saturday, with a 12-8 victory in game one and a 13-7 triumph in game two. The Diamond Heels have scored 10 or more runs in five of their last six wins, including each of their previous three. North Carolina is 16-0 this season when scoring 10 or more runs.

For some reason they do not play well against ECU, not sure if it's mental where they do not take them seriously?

2-0 this week against 2 top 15 teams would of been nice but road win at ECU might be huge later this month..
