We've had some very good recruiting classes, but like the KC Royals, we have few super stars. What makes our team special has everything to do with the following: 1) player leadership; 2) as focussed an HC as I can recall; 3) and the best hires of coaches as I have ever seen who have coached this team to their absolute best. The coaches that became part of the program this season could not have been scripted. How they quickly gelled and became one as a staff, especially on defense, as that is where the most changes were made, is storybook. Yes, we have talent, and yes, we need to improve on defense, but seriously, it is our staff, led by Fed, that has made this team what it has become.
