*Tonight was just the sixth time since 1970 that three Tar Heels had double-doubles in points and rebounds. Anthony 20/10, Brooks and Pierce both 18/12. Fourth time in the Roy era.

*Cole Anthony is the first Tar Heel freshman with consecutive games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. Had 34 and 11 vs Notre Dame and 20/10 tonight at UNCW. And he’s the point guard.

*Tonight’s win is the 873rd for Roy Williams, who ties fellow three-time NCAA champion Jim Calhoun for sixth place in all-time wins by a Division I head coach. Next up is Adolph Rupp with 876.

*Garrison Brooks not only had a career-high 12 rebounds and his first double-double with 18 points (two off his career scoring high) he also made a career-best eight free throws (previous high was five).

*Three Tar Heels were plus 20 or better tonight at UNCW: Cole Anthony and Justin Pierce were both plus 24 and Andrew Platek was plus 21.

*Andrew Platek had a career-high four assists against UNCW.

*Justin Pierce passed the 1,000-point mark for his career and recorded his 17th double-double.
