UNC vs Georgia Tech game thread (12/7/2024)

My favorite part are the fans that dig in their feet, cross their arms, and refuse to admit that our broke NIL is responsible for this frontcourt... they just want to put all the blame on the coach who won the ACC and got a #1 seed a few months ago.

Their like flat earthers. No amount of evidence is going to change their mind.

Would a robust NIL have convinced Harrison Ingram to stay for his senior season? We could sure use him 🤔

need rose to post the roster rankings of our players to remind folks this isn’t solely NIL. we’ve got talent on our roster. our bigs are worse than anything we’ve ever seen but it’s not just NIL. some in the aau circuit don’t have trust we can develop a big for the NBA, and we also are very guard heavy so what talented big wants to come and hope they can rebound enough of RJ’s misses to get there points? there’s also a large faction of folks that know Hubert’s hire was a farce and won’t support at the levels they have historically until we actually do what’s best for the program. look at attendance. look at rams club membership giving, etc. people talk with their time and wallet/pocketbook. stop the nonsense.

So if they had spent RJs NIL on a big how much better could this team be? Blame EC all you want but they are two different teams depending on whether RJ decides to dominate the ball or not. Choosing him over EC is going to limit the ceiling. No way RJ earned 38 minutes today.

1. Cadeau had 7 turnovers today. RJ was definitely better than Cadeau at running the team today.

2. Much of RJ's NIL comes from actual endorsements procured by his agent. It's not like his total NIL value would have suddenly been available had he not returned. You'd only be freeing up the amount UNC's NIL collective is directly paying RJ.

They don’t run an offense at all when RJ is “at the one”. EC hasn’t been good but he is the only PG on the roster again this year. Part of the problem is teammates that don’t have a feel for him, which got better last year but would be much better if the coach and the team were clear that he is the PG. EC, Trimble, Jackson, Powell, JWash/Lublin I believe would be a much more dynamic core by March but we’ll never know.

We'd have lost the game today if not for RJ's play at point guard. And a home loss to GT (which I believe qualifies as a quad 4 game) would have ended any chance at the NCAA tournament.

And none of Cadeau's turnovers today were a result of his teammates "not having a feel for him."

This was not true tonight. EC couldn’t run offense for turnovers. RJ literally passed up shots tonight for a better shot(surprised the crap out of me too)lol. If you were to listen to non biased announcers like this game, they literally nailed the heels problems. Front court, where are you? All points from the guards in the first half. Pitiful

I agree and we definitely need both of them to do anything extra this year. lol I can’t even type final four after watching the last several games. I’d take making the tournament with two wins.

Cadeau doest have a feel for anything but throwing the ball away.

Most of those pases should have never been thrown and he can't hit a 15 ft shot. What good is he at this level?
