Just saw the news. You would think the NCAA would have done this before August. Although, I guess it's possible we screwed it up.

NCAA changed the rules after Tez had enrolled at UNC. He transferred from NC Central initially due to them cancelling football due to Covid, thus, never played a down of football there. The waiver to come here due to being close to his grandmother, who helped raise him, should be granted. But, we're talking about the NCAA, so who knows.

Changing the rules AFTER he enrolled and then waiting until August 8th to do it, is certainly a choice. Kent State's coach also left for another job, thought a player could be given a waiver to transfer if that was the case. Alas, UNC seems to feel good about an appeal and Tez being able to play week 1.

Yeah, I went and read an article about the background and it seems like an obvious exemption. But the NCAA is pretty stupid, so who knows.
