UNC..your decision is coming..

The Big Ten is a pile of cat diarrhea. If UNC ever joined the Big Ten, I would never care for UNC sports again. Most UNC football fans would feel the same. The basketball-only fools would cheer for UNC basketball, but UNC football would have as few fans as IU or Northwestern.

If we were in the SEC, our football would grow leaps and bounds.

Ok, I will bite... just why is our decision coming?
Because Delaney is an idiot of NJ proportions and thinks he can force us and UVA to move. Either we give the Big Boring Midwest 2 schools in the South, thus making it relevant in the eyes of the SEC and college football, or we go SEC and thus 'force' ND to joing the Big Boring Midwest and thus save it nationally.

If there is any 'force' bearing down on the ACC, ND will go full member in football to make certain it never has to entertain joining the Big Boring Midwest.

..sleep it off Woadblue.

Money. You will make 10-20M more/year in the B10 or sec. The B10 has better academics, by a mile. The sec has better football. The B10 has better bball.

Maryland is a whore. UNC is not.

I can't see what Unc would gain as far as prestige. The Acc is usually in the top two conferences in basketball
and football clearly is not a priority for us. If we played football in the sec, we would be winning only non conference games.

Get over yourself all ready. The UNC's not going anywhere. The ACC is the best b-ball conference, and oh yea, the defending national champion in football, UVA just won a natty is soccer. The SEC is over rated and the b10 just flat out sucks.

When does that extra money start? I just saw the ACC make 25mm more than the B1G in bowls.

FSU won the NC in womens soccer too

.... the ACC will be fine ... it definitely improved in football this year ((overall)) ... basketball is very competitive ... baseball too .... and as we all have seen this year , we pulled in a lot of money from the bowls ... overall the yield curve is going in the right direction

They do not call the Midwest the rust belt for nothing. Your day is over Big 10 or whatever you call yourselves.

Haven't we been through this already? Why is it coming up again now?
Because the Big Teners are always desperate - how else to explain bribing Maryland with travel funds and wanting Rutgers?

Measurement of academia is very subjective but if you were to use a composite ranking of all of the major conferences via the US News and World Report of colleges, the ACC is waaaay better than Big 10,11,14. But should North Carolina decide to join the Big 10,11,14 I think they would do rather well in football. Consider: Big 10,11,14 newcomers Maryland and Rutgers improved their football record from the prior year of their old conferences. Put another way: Rutgers of the American and Maryland of the ACC did BETTER in their new conference. Let that sink in.

UNC has zero interest in changing conferences, as in none at all, unless some drastic changes suddenly occur...

it is a non-issue since that grant of rights, anyway, and that new prez @ UMd learned who was right about how much it would cost to leave the hard way...

Swofford must still be laughing about that one...

Exactly - Big Ten football is boring, mediocre crap.

Worse, the BT leadership is the worst sort of insufferably smarmy Yankee punk repeated ad nauseam. I would as soon be a Dook fan as be a graduate of and fan of any team in the Big Ten.

4-4 and 3-5 conference records (Maryland, Rutgers) must be "rather well", as you put it. But, more important are the DC and the NYC markets. We are happy to have both, and their respective bank accounts agree. As far as scholastics, I prefer the more international QC poll, that has Michigan the top public university in the US, and 14th in the world.

I feel sorry for Miami. You and fsu should be in the $ec. And, I know you both would join that conference in a nanosecond.

I have nothing against the ACC, and wish you great success. The business side of me says I'm not so sure. But. I agree that any changes will be years away.

By the way, I did not expect this post to last so long. Good luck.

What makes you think UNC would join the SEC in a nanosecond? UNC isn't going anywhere.

Fine in the ACC
