The Fender Custom Shop has officially made a replica line of the Alligator Strat

@uncboy10

I've made about 2 or 3 of these over the years for that outfit in Miami- Millionairegallery.com

Just read there’s only going to be 100 of them and they’ll be 20k…. sheesh

For that kind of money I bet you could get a custom built Alembic and really nail the Jerry vibe.

Yeah... Fender Custom Shop makes a lot of "souvenirs" and sell them for $10-$20k

They've made quite a few. The George Harrison "Rocky" Stratocaster, the Jimmy Page "Dragon" Telecaster, etc.. What's funny is I've been making those replicas for near 20 years!

I've always wanted one of the Hendrix monterey pop strats. That paint job is gorgeous. But generally I'm not big on replica or signature guitars. They're cool but I'd rather put my own stamp on something

The first ones, released back in 1997, are ridiculous money, now. Pamelina H. the artist did all of those by hand. They came with 2 cases, lots of extras. I think they're going for like $60k

The reissues that were made in Mexico, in the 2010s have jumped in price since they stopped making them, too. Those are more like his actual artwork.

My favorite Hendrix guitar is the Flying V. I made dozens of these:

Aesthetically, I think it looks way better without the sticker. It’s kinda funny that an entire generation now associates that guitar with John Mayer more than Hendrix. I bet you could make a killing doing reproductions of Mayer’s Black One strat. Generally I think artificial relics are kinda lame but that one is a good looking guitar. And sounds phenomenal. I like his tone a lot less since he switched to PRS.

That Flying V is something special too. Jimi must’ve found a batch of the good shit when he was painting up all of those guitars.

I watched a shop tour video for a woodworkers follow. He refurbishes some older tools. As he was describing each tool, he came across his table saw. Was a standard powermatic saw. But the neat thing was who he purchased it from. That guy had tons for photos of the guitars he built over the years. Made them for bands like Van Halen and many more. The guy purchasing the saw liked the nostalgic feeling of knowing his saw was used to make many stars guitars.
