• The Tar Heels are now 11-2 overall and 7-0 in the Smith Center. Carolina opens ACC play on Wednesday (Dec. 30) at home vs. Clemson.
• Carolina matched its season high in scoring margin with the 33-point win over the Spartans (also beat Davidson by 33).
• The Tar Heels scored 90 or more points six times in their 13 non-conference games to start the season. UNC scored 90 or more points five times all of last season.
• The Tar Heels are averaging 92.0 points in their seven games in December.
• Roy Williams is now 761-204 in 28 seasons as a head coach and 343-104 at UNC. He is 11th all-time in NCAA Division I victories.
• Carolina shot 52.6 percent from the floor in the first half and 59.3 in the second. That is the fourth game this season UNC shot 50 percent or better in both halves (Maryland, Davidson, Texas and UNCG).

• Brice Johnson registered his seventh double-double this season and the 17th of his career with 16 points and 16 rebounds. The 16 rebounds were a season best and one off his career high.
• Johnson made 7 of 9 field goal attempts. He has made 43 of 56 shots from the floor in the last five games (.768).
• Johnson has scored in double figures in all 13 games, the only Tar Heel to do that.
• Nate Britt scored 11 points, his fourth double-figure scoring game of the season and the 14th of his career. All four of his double-figure games this year have come at the Smith Center.
• Britt also matched his season high with five assists and did not have a turnover, his seventh straight game without a turnover.
