My son caught this flounder at the mouth of Hog's Inlet near Cherry Grove, SC.

My dad used to have a place there. The flounder fishing is good there.
Yeah we went there for a day specifically to hit that spot and catch flounder. I used to fish it as a kid and it's still just as good. We pulled out about 8 keepers that day. Caught a few small ones too.

Spanish seem to be biting every where this time of year. Every summer, I get out with some buddies and it's always spanish or blue fish. But most fun I've had was getting out to the gulf and going after marlin.

I fished for marlin off the coast of Saint Lucia back in January. I'll see if I can post a pic when I get home. Didn't catch any unfortunately but we were only out for like four hours and it was choppy.

Last time I went was 2-3 years ago out of Oregon Inlet (OBX) and we caught about 20 that day...was really cool b/c a shark (captain said it was a dusking) bit the marlin in half as we were reeling it in...and the captain ran to get his pistol to shoot the shark...it was hanging around our boat for a good 10 minutes. Didn't catch it but was pretty cool.

Ok so if you are anywhere near Myrtle Beach, drive up to Conway and go to Luvans Fish Camp for "supper." It's a little hole in the wall cabin that does fresh seafood just about anyway you like. Personally, I like their simple fried stuff. Their hush puppies are awesome. None of that sweet stuff. A real low country pup with a big piece of onion in it.

The owners name is Richard. If you call it dinner he will repeat it back to you as supper. You'd think he was a dick if you didn't know better. He's a kind man and loves to see folks enjoying his food. He's just Low Country as hell, with no time for unnecessary talk. He does everything by himself so go early and don't give up if after 45 minutes he hasn't brought you anything. As a matter of fact, bringing your own drinks (beer, wine, tea, whatever) is encouraged. You will thank me later for that advice.

Here is a pic of the place with my wife and oldest son out front.

Is there a way to poast pics directly from the IPhone?
I'm not sure if there is something from within iCloud you can directly share a link to a pic from. I would just use photobucket. Browse to photobucket.com on your phone and create a free account. Then just upload the pics from your phone to that site. Once the pic is there you can click on it and there will be sharing options. Copy the 'Direct' link and paste it into the 'Image' tool here. You can also use the photobucket app for iPhone if you prefer apps versus trying to do real work in a tiny browser.

Sweet ride, dad. What is that, a Previa?

Also, if you look anything like your avatar (which I have no other choice but to believe), you may have outkicked your coverage.
Haha. I am not sure what that is behind there. I thought it was just a prop to make the place seem more authentic. It did too.

Going back through all the pics we have and there is not one face shot of me. Wth! I'm starting to think my family doesn't like me. Or maybe I out kicked my coverage even farther than I realized and they just don't want to ugly-up the pretty pictures. I was always driving the boat when we trolled, and when we anchored I was taking all the pictures of the boys catching fish. Flounder fishing was just me and my oldest because the rest of them wanted to go to the beach. So of course I'm taking all the pictures there too. Next time I'm going to ask to be part of the vacation instead of boat captain, fishing guide and photographer.

Wait! I found one! Big, sexy mf'er!

Not from this year but it is on my cousins boat last year. We were fishing about 12 miles off of Pine Point in Maine. The day before we got there my cousin caught a 700+ pound Tuna on that boat.

Tuna being put on the truck that bought it when my cousin came to shore. The Japanese paid him $10k for that thing.

You didn't get your arm stuck for an extended period of time, did you? Say, oh, roughly 127 Hours give or take a few?
Haha no, but it's easy to see why careless people die in slot canyons every year. There's nowhere for the water to go in a heavy rain but to fill up the slot and create deep, torrential currents. So if you're dumb enough to be out there when the forecast looks bad, well....

One of mom's brothers still lives on the farm and is the third generation of the family to do so. The barn in the photo was originally built in 1918 (almost 100 years old).
