Villanova vs. OU

Gonna be a heck of a game, I actually think Villinova will take that one. Nova to me is kinda Indiana like in they have a really good big man and tend to surround him with a lot of outside shooters.

I think OU can get to dependant on Hield and the common there of this NCAAT is that it is more team wins than great individuals. Depth is the real key IMO to this tourney and that depth being able to produce, I think nova can do that better than OU.

I do expect OU to be favored going in.

We want nova to win.

IDK about that, I think match up wise Nova may be the tuffer match up. Nova is more total team orientated, they can hit you from so many different spots, it isn't the one guy that scores 30 a night that scares me it is the team that can have multiple double digit scorers on the floor and jump shoot from 4 different positions on the floor.

I think Oky depends to much on Hield, one man will not beat ya unless he is a dominating big man that swats everything inside the lane away and is an un-stoppable scorer and even with that it may not be enough.

Vegas says that Nova is the favorite. I have no idea who I want to win. Just haven't watched either of them play enough to know.

I prefer the OK matchup for us. Either game will be tough, but I'll take my chances with a team that is reliant on one guy to beat us, even if he's as good as Hield is. We play our game, push the tempo, get the ball inside and make them fight for every shot, we cut down the nets.

OK crushed them in December in Hawaii, in a similar spot because it was also a gym where it's difficult to shoot.

If Nova isn't hitting shots, they are ordinary. Give me OK by 5.

I'm not very familiar with Oklahoma's roster other than Hield. Do they have anyone in the front that can match up defensively with Johnson?

I wouldnt exactly be excited to play Hield but i agree that OU is the easier matchup. Theyll try to place at our pace and we would wear them down. Hield can make all the 3's he wants, he still cant defend our big men in the paint

KInda surprised vegas has Nova as the favorite, I assumed it would be Okey but I do think Nova is the harder team to beat. Having said that, I honestly want the better team and I am not assuming we beat Syracuse at all, feel we have a really chance to beat them but beating a team, a good team that uses a defense that causes us the most trouble, is never going to be an easy thing.

I welcome the harder path to the title, I think this team can play any opponent they see and I don't want anyone making the false allegation that we got a easy path to the title, unlike the last couple duke titles.

Do not under estimate what we did last night, we beat a team we had already played twice, not easy by any measure and Syracuse will be the same, a team we will be playing for the 3rd time this season. This time it is a team we have already beaten twice, beating a good team 3 times in the same season is a HUGE hurdle, don't consider it anything less!!!

I honestly believe that our last 2 games and add to that the next game will be harder games for us than either OKey or Nova would be in a national title game. Heck, Providence may be close to the same level a game as we would have vs OKey or Nova. That is not a diss aimed at either of those schools, just a reflection of the really good teams we have had to play and the fact that if we can get by Syracuse we will have beaten teams that we will have played 3 times in the same season.

I mean...does anyone really have someone that can matchup with Brice? He's been a terror all year.

As for Oklahoma's front court, Spangler is good but undersized. He's just 6'8'' and plays as their primary big guy. Lattin is their other big but again, he's only 6'9'' and doesn't play big (5 boards per game). This is a HUGE mismatch should we play them.

Their backcourt is simply loaded with 3 guys who can kill you in Buddy, Woodard, and Cousins.

I think we'd be a 5 point fav vs. Nova and a 7 point fav against Okla. Let's get by Cuse first.

Would rather play Villanova then OU. But I think OU wins.

Not to overlook Syracuse of course.

Vegas have us odds on fav to win it all getting past the Orange and then 'Nova in the final.
As it is now, the odds makers sure think a lot of the Heels.
I agree with '75 above, let's get past Saturday, then we'll worry with Monday. As D said above, no easy task playing a league opponent for the third time.

Carolina is favored to win it all, primarily due to their projected margin in the Saturday game (-9). More likely to actually be in the finals than Nova or OU which are closer to a toss up game.

The computers have Nova over Carolina head to head by 0.10. So that is a pick 'em line as well.

Really any of the three from UNC, Oklahoma and Nova are pretty equal in the advanced metrix computers. So of course that means Syracuse will probably win.

Fans we can deal with... I want to play whichever team we match up better with.
Besides, what the hell can a Villanova fan say to us?

Where you here in 05? if so you have forgotten the onslaught of their annoying fans saying the refs gave us the game that year.....They're UK fans 2.0.

Man...they don't choke for once and their fan base crawls out of their miserable holes to insult the program with the most FF's in NCAA history?

Maybe it's all of the sexual repression going on at VillaNoFun that has him all hot and bothered.

Look, neither of us have been to the Final Four since 2009. I feel your pain, it has been too long. Storied programs like you and us shouldn't have to wait 6 years between Final Fours, but sometimes we do.

Although in 2009 when you had a wrecking crew of a team, and we were just happy to be there, this fight should be more even (provided we can get past Buddy, which is far from a guarantee).

Ball, don't dilute your message by referencing the NY Post.

JV has been gone a while. I remember that bet he made and I don't remember him paying.

Regardless, Nova plays team ball and they play hard - think UVA, only Villanova was actually ranked #1 this year. I would be worried about beating either Nova or OU, but right now I am worried about beating Syracuse for a 3rd time, which is never easy for any team to do.

Man if I could find a place that had a pickem in a hypothetical Villanova UNC game, I'd be elated. Unfortunately they're all where the line will actually be, which is around 5 points.

I do not take beating Syracuse for granted. They are good, on a roll, and it is tough to beat anyone 3 times that plays a defense we have a hard time with. That said, I think Heels by 8-10. Close first half, then we pull away with our depth.

You hope Syracuse wins.

I didn't see an insult from ball. He made a joke about computers probably not being a good indicator. Did you guys not get that? Do you all take made up classes? (For the dim-witted, that was an insult)

Oh I'm scared. Never cared for your program. Very dirty and slimy but you try to come accross as holier than though. At least uk fans say "everyone does it". UNC is the worst kind. Oh and in 05, you stole the game. Go Cuse!
