He's just marking time. No matter what he does at SC, he will be a lottery pick. He honored his mother and is making a ton of money with NIL, and he is absolutely not taking any physical risks that would endanger his NBA career. He is content to wait for the NBA to develop his skill set.Standing around the three point line with his hand up, not engaged rebounding or anything else- not impressed.
Glad he’s not here doing that. Another reason I don’t waste my time watching the NBA.He's just marking time. No matter what he does at SC, he will be a lottery pick. With the present level of production I don't see him as a one and done regardless of the hype. What NBA executive would take a risk on a guy who can't contribute to his college team? He's just marking time. No matter what he does at SC, he will be a lottery pick. If he avoids injury he is gone. Looking like a 12 -16 range 1st round at this point. With the present level of production I don't see him as a one and done regardless of the hype. What NBA executive would take a risk on a guy who can't contribute to his college team?
I just don't see him being great, but I didn't think Luka was that great either. NIL, one and done. Transfer portal, 5 years because of Covid. With the present level of production I don't see him as a one and done regardless of the hype. The good news is that the NIL is reducing the impact of one-and-done.I just don't see him being great, but I didn't think Luka was that great either. NIL, one and done. Transfer portal, 5 years because of Covid.
Almost to a point if your not an alumni of a school it is hard to be a fan of a team. I stated years ago I follow my favorite players in the NBA and not a team, college basketball has potential to go that direction shortly.
GG Jackson’s stat line through 14 games:
16.9 PTS
7.5 REB
41.9 FG%
Not what I would call unproductive. I’m guessing the kid is going at 40% effort. He’s in the NBA this time next year.

This is silly.....Kentucky gets players drafted all the time, that do less....GG will be drafted in lottery
Yeah, I think he fits our particular needs better. A pretty obvious OAD like GG can be a big distraction as he auditions for the NBA.If given the choice to take either GG or Nance right now, it is easy for me, I take Nance for this season and would not give it a second thought.
With only 9 assists all season, he seems not to distribute the ball either.Regrets that he decided not to become a part of the Carolina family, seriously though he should have continued his growth with his senior year in high school. On the flip side with the NIL, and becoming draft eligible a year earlier swayed their decision. The USuck team is not very good, and he has a lot of Div. 2 players on that team playing with him. Watched a couple of games which they have played, and his teammates are not doing a great job of distributing the ball, and it appears that he has become frustrated. But what the heck, one year there and he will be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft. That's pretty much what his parents wanted.
Agreed. I have nothing against he kid. He plays for a really bad team.GG Jackson’s stat line through 14 games:

Average college player at best. Average...They are no fun to watch.
In all fairness, I believe we only have one guy guilty of that.Would have been another offensive option, but UNC has enough players auditioning for the NBA at every turn they can find. Not sure they need another one.
While I prefer pete to GG for this season, I really do not like how we are using Pete, like we are trying to have Pete play the Manek role and that makes little sense to me. I would rather we put Pete in positions to be able to use the strength of his game and that is in the mid range, especially when he gets a defender on his back, his ability to consistently knock down that mid range or pass it is from what I see the real strength of his game. I am fine with him taking a couple treys a game, that is something he can do at times but it isn't really his best position to be in. I just think he would be really good in a high low look with him up top and Bacot at the short corner looking to post.I would rather have had GG on our team for this season than Nance. I don’t like the way his recruitment went with his mother but picking just the player I would want GG. I haven’t been a fan of Pete’s overall game since he got here. I don’t think Pete should be playing starter type minutes. 20 to 25 minutes depending on the game. I think GG would have thrived under this type of team that we have for this season. He is an energetic, explosive young PF that I think could have made this Team more dangerous than we have with Pete. However it is what it is. I just hope that when Pete does come back that he only plays around 20-25 minutes a game. Plus I don’t think that any of our starters should be playing more than 34 minutes a game.
We should either use him more like Manuk or less. Instead, Pete seems to be in some sort of foggy zone a lot of the time where he doesn't seem to know what's expected of him. While I prefer pete to GG for this season, I really do not like how we are using Pete, like we are trying to have Pete play the Manek role and that makes little sense to me.
More than a couple treys, I think. But he shouldn't be waiting around to do that.I am fine with [Pete] taking a couple treys a game, that is something he can do at times but it isn't really his best position to be in.
