• Little scored 19 against Iona in the first round. The 39 points are the most he has scored in consecutive games this season (he had 12 at Miami and 23 vs. Virginia Tech in January).
• Little and Coby White combined for 37 points (20 by Little, 17 by White). It’s the most points by two UNC freshmen in an NCAA Tournament game since Tyler Hansbrough (24) and Danny Green (15) combined for 39 in the 2006 first round vs. Murray State (in Dayton).
• Luke Maye had 20 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. It was his 21st career 20-point game (eighth this year) and his 15th double-double of the season.
• Maye has 370 rebounds this year and 743 in the last two seasons. That is the most rebounds by a Tar Heel in consecutive seasons in UNC history (previous was 723 by Billy Cunningham in 1964 and 1965; John Henson had 722 in 2011 and 2012, Cunningham had 718 in 1963 and 1964; Antawn Jamison had 718 in 1997 and 1998).
• Maye’s 370 rebounds are the ninth most in UNC single-season history. He is the ONLY Tar Heel with two of the top 12 single-seasonrebound totals in Carolina history.
