Watching uk's scrimmage...

Didn't see much of it but I'm sure there was no defense. If Brisco scored 39, they must've been mostly on layups.

Monk threw down some wicked dunks.
I might've been impressed if there were a defender within 5 feet of him. Most teams have a handful of guys that can dunk like that when the lane is wide open. Like Gary said, this looked like AAU ball.

Yeah I agree. They were more "dunk contest" type throw downs , but he is a forceful dunker.

SKJ whistled for 5 fouls in first 8 minutes. Bam is undisciplined as well. Lotsa raw talent but a top-5 team? Hmm...
Oh, and Briscoe still can't shoot a lick.

Kinda what I was talking about with Bam, fantastic prospect but he is very raw and I don't see him as a NBA big time scorer or a strong freshman scorer for them. He is a heck of physical presence in the paint, should be a better day 1 defender than skal was, should be a solid rebounder once he acclimates to college level big men. But I am not so sure it is as clear as many seem to feel that the NBA is ready to use a 1st round pick on him after this freshman season. 3years in college IMO he is a lotto guy but right now it is not as clear cut in my opinion and would have said the very same thing had he signed with us.

I didn't see a single OAD in that entire game. Kentucky ranked #4 is a joke. I'm excited to bet heavily against them vs. MSU and UNC.

Way overrated, lost there two best payers off a average team that couldn't get out of the first weekend of the tourney. We will beat them
down without Theo and continue to own this mismatch of a series.

I felt much better thinking we had Theo. Without Theo, it'll be a close game and could go either way. Keep in mind, it'll be a pro-uk crowd. Supposedly they've bought up their allotment and a lot of the Ucla and OSU ticket allotment.

That is their M.O.
Sumbitches come outta the woodwork. I went to the SEC tourney with a buddy a couple of years ago and it looked like a damned rupp home game.

I mean the SEC is just plain pitiful when it comes to basketball other than Kentucky and Florida occasionally. Doesn't come as a surprise their fans dominate the atmosphere.

I've been to 2 champions classic games, 1 in Atlanta and 1 in Chicago and they dominated both arenas. People may not care for them or their coach but UK fans travel very well.

They have UofL, UK, and the Kentucky Derby in that state. And they also make the best bourbon in the world. It's why their fans are so fanatical and also why they're not very well liked.

I hate UK more than anything. The one positive thing I can say about them is their fans are fanatics.
You would believe the people I know that ONLY use vacation days at work just to watch UK basketball, either live or on TV.
I have a guy on my street that missed his daughters first communion because of a UK game.

I didn't see it, someone in a later post say briscoe scored 39 but you say he still can't shoot? Can ya share how that happened?

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the pre-season rankings pi,ping Ky as a top 5 team, were they not top 2 by some? We have talked about that Ky hype machine but no better example of it than this. Some of the experts seem to believe that all you have to do is roll out a bunch of freshman 5 stars and all the sudden you have a top 5 college team? What few seem to acknowledge is it isn't how many 5 star players you have but more do you have that game changer 5 star. Ky won a natty with a bunch of 5 stars but the real weapon they had was Anthony Davis. Duke wins one lead by 3 5star freshmen but the difference maker was Ochafor. Point being, it was not about the number of 5 stars they had IMO, it was about the one game changer 5 star they had.

I am looking for that game changer freshman, that one guy that anchors everything else, I don't see him yet for Ky. Duke, that guy may have been Giles, not convinced that guy was or is Tatum.

I don't know. Didn't watch much of the second half. His shot form still is all over the place, There was little defense being played. I HOPE he believes he can shoot against us. Let him fire it.

I'm not sure if they have a dominant big man like Davis on this team. All their bigs are pretty green, if very talented. I think they'll have a dynamic backcourt with Briscoe and Fox and that will help a lot. They will simply overwhelm most of their opponents with sheer talent and they play in a pretty weak league so they'll win a ton of games. By the end of the year, they'll be a tough out.

I agree Arch. I think Fox is dynamic. dont forget about Monk in that back court i think he is a SG?

I do agree Arch but add that it could be just like last year. Weak schedule, win a lot, meet some quality team in tourney, blow up. Fingers crossed.
