Way to GO, DABO! 93 MILLION DOLLARS!

That's good value for Clemson.
It is.

I wonder if Mack is going to be able to persuade the various UNC power brokers that a National Championship football coach is indeed worth those huge amounts to the school?

You have to have one in order to pay them.

Dabo's worth every penny. Smart move by Clemson to lock him up with that kind of money before Saban retires from Bama and they come calling. I'd hate for Dabo, or any other good coach, to leave the ACC for an SEC school.

The key for UNC is to pay the money to keep good coaches around Mack and let him be the CEO...

Correct.

Andy Staples has an article on SI today about the ACC's poor draft showing this year. The good thing is he notes that ACC ADs saw it coming, and new HCs have been hired. He stresses that GT got rid of the triple option and replaced with an offense that will produce players the NFL will like if they are good.

Players drafted, especially drafted early, is very important to a league and to individual programs. That goes at least double for QBs.

Longo was looking at HC jobs last year and may have been willing to take a 1AA job if Mack had not wanted him. We may lose Longo to the HC market after no more than 2 years. So Mack and Bubba need to be prepared to pay top dollar to keep Bateman and to hire a top OC if/when we need to replace Longo.
