If we play with Duke's intensity level and overall attention to detail they consistently play with, we wouldn't be what is now an extremely frustrating program. Duke simplified the game late. They let Ingram and Allen take everything and run everything through them. We ignored Brice late. Is it because that's the "Carolina Way" that we don't like getting guys 30 point games?

Couple things that frustrated me. We didn't run good offense for the last 12:00 of the game... Yet, Roy just depended on media timeouts? I don't get it.

My guess is Brice was really tired down the stretch and that's partly on Roy. Give him 3 timeouts. IMO, getting Brice more energy is more important than whether or not Duke is tired. Duke 100% fresh vs 0%, it doesn't matter, Brice is scoring. So if Brice was tired, that's on Roy.

Now, if Brice was scared of the moment, then scratch all that... Who knows.

I've never seen a soft team win any championship. We're soft. Aside from Brice, you can get into our heads pretty easily. This is just who we are. This is who our team is. This is who our coach is. This is what our program is right now. UNC is soft.

This isn't a call for Roy's job. He's the right guy for UNC right now still. But there's a serious question of not whether or not we're going to be a national championship contender. IMO, there are serious questions whether we'll be final four contenders under Roy. Roy's deserved to call his shot.

IMO, we're largely just another program that's just branded as a "blue blood."

They really are soft. The last tough team was 2009.

Williams is at the end. After seeing this season's backslide, I'm convinced.

This game shines a light on the program if you don't put blinders on. No excuses. Something has to change. We got outcoached and outplayed by a Duke team that had five guys and one with four fouls at home. We have no chance at winning a NC. Call me whatever but they are way too soft and it's the same story year after year. No end of game strategy, no adjustments during the game, can't guard a paper bag.

We have all the parts to be the last team standing. Can we put it together to do it? Not sure, but we have what we need to win it all.

I sincerely hope we do win it all and no one will cheer on this team louder than me, but after tonight I am just not sure I can even hope for a good second half of the ACC season, much less anything beyond that. To lose this game like we did is a real kick in the nads. I am just not sure this team has what it takes to win the ACC and I have even less confidence they could win another National Title.

As hard as this is to day, K really is the better coach. To be able to win with basically 5 guys, one with 4 fouls for over half the second half and only 2 even scoring is a testimony to his ability to manage his team and a game. And let's face it, the facts don't lie. He has owned us the last decade. And he had owned Roy even more.

Now, Dean owned him, so maybe we are getting a taste of our own medicine, but the bottom line is that in order for us to even win the ACC at this point this team has to do some serious soul searching and figure out how to win games like this.

I will ALWAYS love my Tar Heels and there won't come a day when I will stop pulling for them, but I just can't get excited about this team anymore this season. Like I said, I hope we turn it around and can really play to our potential before the season ends, but I am just not confident we will.

Good gracious I hope I am wrong!

I'm glad it was resurrected; now peeps get to own their comments. I hope peeps realize that the same coach they wanted to leave town just won both the regular season and tourney championship and its not because a ridiculous amount of talent just signed up. He never was bad and there is no evidence that to's stop runs or that Roy is responsible for Brice not playing as hard as he is now! Some coach sure knew whether to start Meeks or Hicks (all of us got that one wrong) Hicks worse games were when he started. Some coach sure knew when to unveil K. Williams-he just help us win two games.

Imagine if peeps brought back the threads they wanted to post on...hmmm it's just crazy enough to work. I just don't understand anyone who wants Roy to leave. There is not one single sensible reason for this idea!

Hopefully ALL Tar Heels are now fully on the bandwagon and will help support this team to the FF!

HUH?? Good Lord son,....stay away from the crack-pipe.

We're fine.

Why go back and comment on a thread from 3 weeks ago? Obviously we're playing much better now than then.

and i don't know why that's so hard for some to comprehend...carolina has improved the same way duke has not improved...its college basketball, they play two games a week, and they don't get paid...there is a chance teams with talent get better, or they give up and quit.

carolina has been on a roll for two weeks...if they can get three more weeks on this roll, they'll win it.
