Their D looks really good at first glance, but I'm thinking that relatively weak SOS factors into that somewhat.

I had to look. Pitt opponents' offensive ranking (yards per game):

Virginia - 94
Ohio - 67
Penn State - 47
UCF - 3
Delaware - 96 (FCS)
dook - 108
Syracuse - 90
Miami - 79
Georgia Tech - 121
UNC - 36

Outside of UCF, they haven't played any great offenses. The Heels will be the second most prolific offense they've played this season.

I've only watched them closely in recent years when they played UNC. Pitt's defense in those games looked like garbage

FWIW... vs common opponents, the Heels are 3-1, Pitt is 2-2 (UVA, dook, Miami, GT).
