I saw a commercial for Chicken and Waffles... blech! WTF? Who eats that shit? Chicken with syrup??? yuck, man.

I don't like sweet mixed-in with my entrees and regular food. I'm old-fashioned here. Dessert is when you get the sweet stuff. I don't like "jeweled rice" for example. I don't want fruit in my dinner food!

My cousin used to eat banana and peanut butter sandwiches... ugh! Just the thought makes me sick.

People eat some weird stuff!

I'm a sushi fan as well, MW Heels.

To add to this thread, I loved me some chicken livers and gizzards, broiled in a nice butter sauce that was lightly dusted in flour.

I'm also a big fan of baby calves liver, fried, w/ a side of bacon & sauteed onions . . !

I've never tried chicken & waffles, don't think I'd like to . .

Chicken and waffles is pretty good. But not as good as sushi. Last time I went to an all you can eat sushi night I put down 8 rolls.

Have you ever put honey on a chicken strip?
Lord, no! I don't add a lot of condiments to my food. No dipping sauces. Too much HFCS in that crap. Ugh! Honey with chicken! It's out of place. That's like pineapple on pizza... NOOOOO! You don't HEAT FRUIT!

@Hark_The_Sound_2010 had the right term- "savory"... The taste-words are funky. It reminds me of George Carlin saying that "Tangy and Zesty" are not real words, they're advertiser's words.

- Did you ever taste something and look at your friend and say "This is real ZESTY!" and he replies "And, TANGY, TOO!"

I never knew you were a Carlin fan.

Never had chicken and waffles and just learned it was a thing about 5 years ago. But I would try it for sure. I purposely get syrup on my sausage and eggs when eating pancakes. That shit is delicious. And pineapple on pizza is also delicious. And I eat banana and peanut butter together frequently. Strum sounds like a 9 year old. I bet he yells at his mom if the food on his plate is touching.

There’s little that I won’t try when it comes to food.

Chicken and waffles is da bomb! Try it somewhere that's good at it. Lots of places are selling it these days.

My kids think half of what I eat is weird...collards, turnips, fatback...I still love the "soul food" I grew up on.

I was a "fussy eater"... a pain in the ass. I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Yeah, I think Chicken and Waffles is a really solid combo. I'm assuming you saw the ad at KFC, which I tried, and it's pretty much standard KFC, which is to say not the greatest. If you were gonna do fast food chicken and waffles, get your chicken from KFC or Bojangles or whatever, and get the waffle from Waffle House. (Not saying that is the best chicken and waffle combo, but a makeshift alternative that will yield a better waffle than KFC's)

I made ceveche yesterday from red snapper my neighbor caught over the weekend. Mix it raw with lime juice, onion, tomato, and serrano pepppers. Then let it sit overnight. The acidity of the lime juice “cooks” the fish. Having it right now for lunch. Amazing.

Food is always better when mixed. The more flavors the better.

Chicken and waffles is awesome. I've also had a vegan version, which was not awesome. But to reiterate, the normal version is awesome.

You know what's not awesome? Miracle Whip.

True story, me and the wife go to visit her granny who was like 87 but still on her own. We got caught up in a wreck on interstate and it was like 2 before we got there and we were both starving. She said she had a chk and broccoli casserole ready. I was like. “**** yea gonna eat the crap outta that”. We start wolfing it down then the taste hit us. We looked at each other with “wtf is in my mouth” looks. Bout that time she said “i’m trying to eat healthier so i used fat free miracle whip”. It took days to get that vile taste out of my mouth.

Chicken and waffles isn't new - I've always heard it referred to as the Jesse Jackson: I guess its been a known favorite of his for a long time.

I like all kinds of olives, olive bar selections, flavored true olive oils....(not the generic 95% veg / corn oil, 5% olive oil)....

and Frank's hot sauce on most everything. Frank's dominates all other hot sauces / tobasco IMO....not even close. I think Frank's is the basis for original buffalo wings recipe.

Yea my people ate the lights and all those guts too but there are a few things I just can't bring myself to partake of. My dad loved pork brains and eggs for breakfast...aw heck no.

I dig me some liver pudding. There's a family in the Peter's Creek area of Sampson Co. that live completely off the grid. Seven brothers. They all have houses within shouting distance of each other, grow their own food, produce their own electricity, etc. Only one of them works a public job because according to him if at least one of them isn't working and paying income tax the government crawls all over them.

Anyway, a couple of years ago some friends and I were out there buying some lumber while the families were killing and butchering hogs. I grew up doing that stuff so I wandered over just to see how they went about it. A group of the men were making liver pudding and they offered me a sandwich...OMG, it was about the best thing I've ever eaten. My son was with us and they offered him one as well. Taylor won't usually eat the stuff but he told me later those guys were "wooly-boogers" and he was almost afraid to say no. He ate 2 of those liver pudding sammiches, lol. He said if it all tasted like that he'd eat it every day.
