He's a center. He also got a fat NIL deal to pick WVU.Anyone available from Mr. DUI resignation, I always liked the Edwards player from Syracuse.
After his radio comments, he was already suspended 3 games and fined 1 million of his upcoming salary. The word was they agreed to allow him to have a more graceful exit with one final season, rather then being dismissed then for it, with the understanding no more incidences or similar comments/actions. But he screwed up that easier landing as well. From DSPN, delete if improper to poast. 🙄
”Speculation had grown rampant over the past couple of seasons that Huggins was nearing retirement. In fact, there was a perception in the industry that the 2023-24 campaign might be his final season as a head coach. As a result, West Virginia went all-in this spring in the transfer portal, bringing in three impact players -- Syracuse's Jesse Edwards, Arizona's Kerr Kriisa and Montana State's RaeQuan Battle -- to go with two Manhattan transfers who sat out last season. Starter Tre Mitchell and sixth man Joe Toussaint were also returning, giving the Mountaineers a borderline preseason top-25 team.
That roster is now completely up in the air. NCAA rules provide student-athletes a 30-day extension to enter the transfer portal after a coaching change. So even though the transfer window has closed for undergraduates, several players on the roster can still leave. The two biggest names will likely be Edwards and Kriisa, neither of whom needs a waiver as a first-time transfer and both of whom could start at nearly any program in the country.”
Huggins is well known as a guy that loves to tip the glass so this news of his DUI situation surprises no one at all in college basketball circles. The man can coach but the bet was on how long it would take for his drinking to tarnish his career, took longer than anyone thought. Frankly, he just doesn't care if people like it or not, Huggins simply is not going to change, I suspect he calls Uber next time. Have heard he has reduced his drinking a lot in recent years, now he ONLY drinks on days that end in a "Y"...Huggins clearly has an alcohol problem that is costing him dearly. I hope he gets it under control, basketball is secondary.
Have to agree with you this has been a problem for Huggins over the years, for some reason as most alcoholic's are, he was in denial. Hate that this happen to him when they are so many avenue's for one to seek help or secure assistance's. It's not good for someone to put themselves and other's at risk with DUI's, and you are correct Dave he should have called Uber.Huggins is well known as a guy that loves to tip the glass so this news of his DUI situation surprises no one at all in college basketball circles.
